    Hello again @faatal . Another a19.1 b8 performance post.

This time around I detected a problem with the AIDirector . AIDirector aka the horde troll knows that spawning entities all at once results in a freeze of 5-15 seconds to an already taxed cpu (that hurt).

The freeze was the hardest I've ever seen. 4 entities at the same second. My 2.7ghz 4C/8T said nope for quite a while there.

Here's the screenshot, check that 19:52:26 timestamp :

I don't know if it's an easy fix. The solution would be to force the AIDirector to spawn each entity every 2 seconds. Ideally each one on readjusted coordinates from each other (to account for entities moving) provided that they still aren't noticed by the player. But the main problem is not the conga line, but the performance hit.

Not sure I want them to fix that. Means my "spidey sense" for when to prep for a large wandering horde would be gone... 😁🤣

    1. All weapons hit a random location inside the inner circle formed by the target cross. The bigger the circle the less accurate the weapon.

So unless you are near enough to an enemy that the circle is filled completely with its head you have a chance to not hit the head even if you pointed absolutely accurately at it. 1b. This is done because this is an RPG where the abilities of your character are important and not only the accuracy of your mouse hand like in a shooter.

    2. If you want to be accurate with a bow, get yourself a composite (because the target circle is much smaller than with primitive and wooden bow) and invest in stealth so you can get near enough to your target.

    1. The cone needs to be narrowed. This is a survival sim/1st person tower defense game, not quarter slots at a casino.

1b. I think you're mixing up RPGs with Gatchas. Character abilities/perks don't affect accuracy in 7D2D. Damage dealt and effect on hit yes. Accuracy is fully dependent on rng, either where the shot lands or adjusting the cone via rolling lucky on loot.

    2. Here once again all you're saying is "Get lucky.".

That said, Moe strikes me less as the stereotypical "fat" and more of a tired rig worker 3/4 of the way through a 6 month layover pudge. Paunch is there but it doesn't jiggle much.

I propose a subtle change to it's behavior. Remove the explode on death. Make it only explode when it can't path to a player. I should not lose a section of my base, because I succeeded in killing it before it kills me.

If it blows up, you didn't kill it. At least not in vanilla.
