  1. Hello @TomGun42 The code works. When editing the blocks, the changes will only apply to new blocks you place down, not existing ones. (I believe.) So, when applying a mod like this to a world, it will only apply when prefabs reset or unless you start it in a new world. Does this help? I did load this up and it worked for me. If it still doesn't work for you on NEW blocks, could be conflicted with another mod.
  2. Good Idea. I didn't realize I had more on nexus mod and not over here!
  3. Hmmm. It is working for me. I just tested it out on the stone axe, the red stone axe thing, hammer, and nailgun. If you have the other mod still applied, it might cancel out what I did. Also, be sure it isn't just the schematic you have in your inventory? Oh crap! I guess I forgot to put it over here. 😛 Thanks for catching that! OOOh, also, if you have any mods that edit any of the tools used for upgrading, there is a property that you need to add the polish material to for it to work. It is under Action1. <property name="Allowed_upgrade_items" value="resourceWood,resourceClayLump,resourceSnowBall,resourceScrapIron,resourceForgedIron,resourceForgedSteel,resourceConcreteMix,resourceCobblestones,ironDoor1_v1,vaultDoor01,scrapHatch_v1,vaultHatch_v1,resourceYuccaFibers,resourceCloth,resourceScrapPolymers,resourceNail,resourceSteelPolishR"/> notice how at the end I added ,resourceSteelPolishR as that is the name of the polish I use. Hope this helps?
  4. Right now! 🙂 Saminal is correct. I color coded existing icons in order to keep it server only. If I created an icon that matched the material for each shape, this would require everyone to download the mod in order to use it. And as Saminal noted, some of the blocks were only available in brick. To help, I ALSO had the material of the block a different color text than the shape. I am doing well, thanks! I like the design and aesthetics of your base! When placing the block within a "Variant Helper" it causes issues with rotation of all the blocks within. SO, until something about that changes on the Dev end of things.... I got this for a workaround.... it isn't convenient, but it will allow you to do what you seek for now. New Block: Wood Rotating 45 Degrees: Bars -You can choose between centered and side bars -Upgrades normally like the rest of them
  5. Ok, here is what I ended up doing. But first, thanks for the offers and help! After looking at the old system and looking up actual ingredients for polishing steel.... lol. This is what I did. 1. It takes 1 bottle of Steel Polish to upgrade a Steel Block to a Stainless Steel Block. 2. You can craft it only after finding the schematic... which is available where ever "rare books/mods/schematics" is available in the game. 3. You can find polish in loot that has "rare ores" "air drop" "broken chem stations" "some rare working stiff boxes" etc. But keyword is you "can" find. Just not often and not a lot. 4. To craft it, after looking a lot of crap up and staring at all the options, I came up with this: A. You make 10 at a time. B. Requires 2 Awesome Sauce, 5 Recogs, 10 gunpowder, 10 oil, and 10 animal fat. ....This means, 10 acids, and 10 honeys as the "rarer" ingredients. Complicated to explain, but not too complicated in action.... maybe. Thoughts?
  6. I literally just put it into my server for the final testing phase. 😉 Version 1.06 is almost ready.
  7. Hello! Good catch! I uh..... meant to post a warning about applying this patch to an existing save. There might be another way to "fix it" in game, but so far what I have found to do is to go into God Mode, and then position myself inside the terrain/walls, and "rebuild" my blocks where it wouldn't let me. It seems to do with blocks that had railings in which this would happen. I believe because I "reorganized" the xml file and the order of the blocks changed is why this occurred. Thanks for catching this! Sorry for the confusion!
  8. Ok, I went a little crazy. All 153 blocks in my mod can now be upgraded to Stainless Steel.... utilizing 10 of the polish... They each even downgrade correctly to R-Concrete. But the big question is.... keep Polish available the way it was back in A16? Only through traders/loot? Or to make it craftable. That is the big question now. Thoughts?
  9. I believe they are getting there. Got some plans they are still working on getting out. 😉
  10. You are quite convincing! Creating that to go with this mod will take some time, but I believe I am convinced. Nice response. 😉
  11. Hello Tom! Thanks for the feedback. The older game version mechanic of steel to stainless steel is indeed still in the files. However, I tend to side on not bringing it back. I can be convinced, but let me tell you my thoughts about why I haven't done it. First, if you want the look, you can always paint it. In my servers, I make the dev paint brush buildable, so people can paint without needing paint. Second, the current mechanic, when the steel block breaks, it turns into the reinforced concrete. I personally felt that was plenty strong for a block. Third, the devs have managed to reduce the upgrade path significantly, and I really liked that, so adding another block may be counterproductive. And finally Fourth, Steel is already expensive, and I like not requiring more resources to get the maxed block. If you have further thoughts/reasonings, please share. The best mods are the ones that utilize input from players. 🙂
  12. There is something political about Nexus mod versus on the forums that I don't know much about. Can anyone enlighten me? I do have my mods on both nexus and on here.
  13. Ok, they are now labelled with their name all nice and highlighted, and at the top of the mod list in a place where everyone can see them! 🙂
  14. You say that like its a bad thing. 😛 I would love it if you could utilize my mod in a way that works for you! And I appreciate the recognition! Good luck sorting through it though.... it is a bit weird what I came up with for some of it. If you need help finding the parts that don't mesh well, I would be happy to lend a hand. 🙂 Come to think of it, I have several other people's mods on my server... I don't claim them as my own, but I haven't given them official credit! GASP! I will correct this! We modders got to stick together!
  15. I just tested it out. After I click on the link, for me at least, there is a download option in the top right corner of the window? I am using Chrome though. If you are still having trouble, I can try something else for ya?
  16. Sorry for my delay! I am ok if you modify my hud for your own use. There are millions of ways to customize how things look, so I acknowledge there is not a 1 size fits all HUD. I have it placed in the bottom corner in case for those that stream, video record, or use overlay apps like Discord in the top left. And I'm sure for 1.07, I will have moved some of the info again! lol. I see it now. It didn't always occur on my own screen so I was confused. But I believe the issue is related to the issues being discussed on this forum right now, so I will further explore. Thanks for responding! I am starting to see these issues more clearly, and yes causes problems in multiplayer servers, especially when there are multiple players at a time. Are there other workarounds found for getting the information we want to display on the HUD that including the player Preview? I think it is also the reason why in laggy situations, you will find two models if your character in character preview.
  17. Wait, it doesn't scrap every item instantly? what items does it miss? I may just have to add a few more lines or something, not too much work.
  18. Haha, the game does update a lot! Looks like you solved a bunch of issues. Are you still having any issues?
  19. It is compatible with a lot of different mods, it just really depends on if it tries to modify the same things or not. If you do get an error, I would be glad to help you figure out what caused it and find a solution. Some of that requires adding their own art into the mod, and I unfortunately don't do much of that. I try to keep to mods that can work on server side without everyone having to download it. Cool concept though!
  20. I definitely agree with your statements. I understand that peeps out there will have a lot of opinions and things. I look for the ideas within the opinions and play with it all until I come to something I like. 🙂 Us HUD modders need to stick together!
  21. Done! Shout out for their support to CrazyAluminum, fabulux, Greymantle, and Scomar!
  22. That is strange! I wonder why your rented server isn't pulling from the localization file... but it is on everything else.... I'm glad to lend a hand! 🙂 Out of curiosity, did the original localization file that you added Russian into, did that one work client side?
  23. Thank you! Ok, try this localization file now. 🙂 localization.txt
  24. I wondered if this would happen. Could you send me your games main localization file? I have an idea how to make it work, but want to be sure about this file first. Thanks.
  25. Hello fabulux. That layout was not done by me. But I just tried the link on there, perhaps it is available. Otherwise you can ask Scomar! I have found getting used to my 1.05 hud to be an interesting task. I'm would like to hear your thoughts about the parts you don't like? May help when 1.06 comes around. 😉
