  1. I'm actually playing with just the day on stream right now, and I WAY prefer it so far.

I think the constant "not knowing" when horde day will be is the main issue. It's not unreasonable to assume the player is mentally counting the days.

So I think I'll play with this a little more and collect more feedback... but I might leave the days turned on.

    Link?

  2. So I've been doing some thinking.

I quite like not having the day and time... I think it enhances the survival experience. But I also kinda feel like you need to know the day... because it's called 7 days to die.

This is my current idea to meet in the middle between the "no time/day" and "put it back."

I was thinking just that when I was playing last night, I think this is a great alternative.

Rad vultures are not rare and they are immortal in the early days because weapons/skills suck.

Radiated dog packs suck in the early days too =).

Love the mod, thought I was done with alpha 16 but this mod brought me back.

  3. Okay, a few things to note/ask.

I finally got the mats to make the food prep table... and it basically only works about 25% of the time. Most of the time it only lets me make the servings and fruit salad... not kabobs or meat pies. If i pick it up and place it, this will sometimes work for me to make a few meat pies and then it stops working again. Sometimes picking it up and placing it again doesn't fix it. :(

Also, I have literally no idea how nutrition works apparently. I do nothing but eat fruit salad, meat pie, kabobs and veggie salad.... and inevitable after about 4 hours of being alive I get bad diet. I have never once gotten myself back to a balanced or good diet in this game. LOVE the mod and the difficulty, but this nutrition thing as well as the fact that it is EXTREMELY difficult to get your wellness back (could a few of the recipes that people can make earlier on give just a few more decimals of wellness?) is making me have to constantly reset.... i just want to get to end game :(

Yeah I pretty much in the same boat. I'm wondering if it is working correctly or if there is something I'm missing.

  4. @Spider

After death I eat only food with 1-2 Nutrition buff and receive Bad Diet :upset:

Yeah, eating nothing but kabobs, meat pies and washing it down with fruity drinks.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

  5. You can dodge the puke if you stay far enough back and you can interrupt them (stop them) by hitting them with an arrow right from they puke. Fighting them becomes a dodge, shoot shoot, dodge game. If you are too close then they will hit you every time but if you stay far enough back they are not too hard.

I don't get any NRE from looting tractors and the wrench isn't like it is in vanilla, the screwdriver does what the wrench did.

Tty playing the game at the lowest difficulty level till you learn more and get better at the game.

Don't get me wrong, the game is tough and sometimes unfairly so but there is still plenty of cool stuff to explore and learn.

  6. @Erik Louden-

Boars don't infect you but your wounds can if not tended to.

    @Spider

I had no medical issues, I got attacked by a boar and after I killed it, I had a gash, bio infection 1 and infected wound.

Also should you get gash, severe wound and bleeding out when the bandaged bite buff wears off?

  7. I knew you'd say that. Honestly I'm a Cataclysm player, I believe in enjoyable losing, but there's a difference between a good challenging experience (what I was enjoying previously) and just making everything unenjoyable because of the threat of losing literally everything you've worked for in often literally unavoidable circumstances (night 3 GPSing burning zombies). There's a reason Rogue-likes and perma death games are usually short quickly finishable games; "lose 50 hours of skill-grinding and work" isn't an attractive feature. Just something to consider.

Either way I love this mod and will adapt to the harsh changes.

I agree, what I do is play at the lowest difficulty level and increase it one level every week till i get to the default one. This usualy gives me a chance to survive long enough to enjoy playing the mod (though i've been killed on day one on the lowest level before).

  8. #1 When running from certain death never run uphill

    - the zed was between me and downhill so I ran up to get some distance from it than ran downhill

#2 When running from certain death dont stop to loot or pick flowers

    - I wasn't picking flowers it was a bird's nest and I was hoping there was some feathers in there to make arrows

#3 Its not a good idea to try and kill a armored undead corpse with a level 1 old tree branch you picked up

Did you see the day and time? I have been playing less than 10m on day 1. I had a level 1club and a level 5 club. I guess I could grind clubs right at the start but I'm usually racing against the clock to find a place to base up.

#4 When running from something that wants to kill you its not a good strategy to run 50 yards then wait for them to catch up, then run 50 yards

then wait for them to catch up, then run 50 yards and wait for them to catch up. You might try losing line of sight and hiding

    - When I stopped I crouched trying to break line of sight but I kept running into more running zombies. Also I was out of stamina so I was trying to regen some before sprinting again.

#5 And never ever, ever ever try and fight a bunch of zombie by punching them in the mouth. That's Zombie Survival 101

    - Those are the only weapons you have left and i was out of stamina, fists were all I had left.

#6 You will not always be able to win in any given situation. Like in life sometime all you can do is run.

    - Agreed, the vid was poking fun at myself not a knock against TS. Honestly if hadn't run into that 2nd running soldier zombie I probably would of survived.

On a side note you might want to mess with your video settings. It looks like you have you vision set real low. Your zombie are popping into view when they are close. You are not seeing them spawn far a way on the ground like you should.

    - Vid/Range settings were on max and I saw no instances of popping in zombies when watching the vid.

  9. Hey Spider.

I found a crack a book and read a ton of skill books but I don't see any increases when I look at the skill list.

I read what you wrote on the first page but I'm not sure why I'm not seeing any increases.

    What am I missing?
