So, I was living in the forest and quested up to tier 5, found 4 traders and everything worked beautifully. Then the 5th trader is located in the wasteland and I wanted to quest there, since the higher lootstage seems worth it. But he only gives me T1 quests? Relogging doesnt help, doing a quest or 2 for him also doesnt help.

Is this intended? That I have to farm back up to tier V because wasteland traders are on their own or something? Didnt read about it and am a bit confused :D

    Thanks for answers!

I'm not sure if this is intended or not but every additional Trader I have found in the forest has offered Quests at T1.  I have not taken any of them and am not sure what happens after you take the first quest and complete it. It's possible you only need to complete one quest at the lower level and then the quests reset to your current level.

What happens instead of "downgrading"? Does the plant just break?

The line immediately below provides the answer, no?

    Quote

Player planted crops now give 2 fruit per harvest with a 50% chance of a seed

There's a 50% chance of getting a seed that would need to be replanted. It would follow that a harvested plant just disappears they way they do in the wild.  I don't know how or if the Living off the Land Perk was changed but we will find out soon enough.

  3. When I started playing in A15, I rushed everything. I wanted to get the best weapons, the best tools, and the best techs ASAP. I wanted to have a solid horde base that I could upgrade by Day 7. Over time that approach caused burn out. So I switched to my current playstyle which is simply doing whatever I feel like doing efficiency be damned. It's not unusual for me to spend the first blood moon or two on top of a POI ignoring the zombies because I did not feel like building a horde base and I don't enjoy shooting down at zombies. Even with this more relaxed playstyle, I typically end my games around Day 50 or so because I have purple Tier 3 weapons and a solid horde base. And so I start a new map or switch to another game.

All of that is to say, rushing progression or rushing base building is a choice. It's not about good players or bad players. It's about having fun. If you enjoy rushing progression more power to you. But it is not more valid than any other playstyle. It is a way to play the game, not the way to play the game.

I answered this somewhere else but it bears repeating. There are only wood frames (particle board) left in the game as far as frames that can be placed and picked up. They upgrade to wood for 10 wood which upgrades to cobblestone for 10 cobblestone which upgrades to Concrete for 10 Concrete Mix which upgrades to Steel for 10 Steel.

There are no frames in the game that go directly to steel or concrete or cobblestone. You can craft those blocks and place them using the shape menu or you upgrade to them paying the cost of each resource as you go through the path. If you want to plan using particle board then you place it where you want and then pick it up to replace it with your concrete block but there is no rebar any longer just as cobblestone frames and junk metal frames are no longer.

    wood frames(particle board) -> Wood -> Cobblestone -> Concrete -> Steel

That is the whole path and with a nail gun it would be 3 clicks and cost you 10 wood, 10 cobblestone rocks, and 10 concrete mix. There is no need to differentiate what you have in your inventory because you never have to choose this or that mat. It just follows the path.

Thanks for clarifying this Roland. I am going to miss rebar. I always viewed building in rebar as part of the progression system. I always found early bases tedious with the wood->cobblestone->concrete upgrade pipeline. I greatly appreciated the ability to build in rebar (especially since rebar as a metal material block could hold more weight).  You could lay out an entire base and not have to worry too much about SI. Depending on the weight characteristics of the new frames we may have to upgrade as we go since the A19 wood frames have SI limitations that rebar does not. I also appreciated rebar frames because breaking misplaced blocks is one of my least favorite activities in 7dtd. I will reserve judgment, however, to see how tedious it is to layout a base with the new frames and replace with full blocks in A20. It's a shame that it was deemed not possible (or desirable) to have both starter building frames (particle board) and advanced building frames (rebar).

  5. Going to repeat an earlier question that I don't believe was answered. Are rebar frames gone in A20?

If so, I am not a fan of this change. One of the advantages of rebar frames is not having to go through the full upgrade cycle of wood (or flagstone)->cobblestone,->concrete-> steel. It also eliminates the wet concrete and reinforced concrete stages (which may no longer exist). In mid to late game I really don't want to have to deal with the wood->cobble->concrete->steel pipeline and just want to build in concrete. I would rather just focus on pumping out as much concrete as I can and not have to worry about crafting cobblestone rocks.

    Awesome Stuff..

Would like to see you guys making crafting a bit harder in the game.

Like wood frames that uses nails and a crafting table , or hand craft can be like 200% slower.

Concrete needs like water and bucket for each 100 or so.

Smaller detail in crafting gear and weapons.

And most important is to put weapons, Tools and gear degrade stats on. Fk its so boring running from day 35 with the same tier 6 shotgun and gear and Boom 1x repair kit and I'm good again.

Transport can use more that A repair kit to jump from 50% durability to 100%

So much i can think of.

But never the Least BIG SHOUT OUT TO THE DEV TEAM

While anything is possible, I wouldn't get your hopes up. This has not been the direction of the game in multiple alphas. There's plenty of grindier games out there though.

I've already read on Steam people complaining about the current (A19) AI because they expect zombies to ALL behave the same way... so when they see 3/4 of them out of 20 going their way doing different things (e.g.: rage mode) they'll just rant about not being able to reliably build a blood moon base because they can't predict where the zombies will go.

And those people will whine and cry no matter what TFP does so why worry about them?

will we be seeing a new experimental branch soon? or is this it for a19?

Fataal has mentioned multiple changes he has been working on. There should be a 19.2 and possibly a 19.3. When those will release is a totally different issue.

This makes sense. If I had to choose a word, I'd use "Simulated Behavior" more than AI, since that includes every type of action executed by the entities, including how they path through the world. Also, I'd say that when the zombies behave stupidly you can't call that artificial "intelligence"!

I'm sure you've seen this but Fataal responded to your question in the A19 Dev thread. The bottom line is that the Devs will balance Zombie/Bandit AI when everything is in the game. My read is that people who are hoping for a return to A16 zombies are engaged in wishful thinking and are likely to be disappointed if they don't readjust their expectations.

Gonna get a lot of hate for this one but...

Do we really need to see Jen's cleavage? The new model seems to follow the usual portrayal of women in video games but guys, it's 2020 and if I watch a video I really don't want the male tubers going on about her cleavage. I think the artist did a great job modelling her, but if she is a doctor, give her back her white coat or just go the full hog and give her tramp stamps and a belly button ring...

Seems unnecessary to me as well but some fights aren't worth fighting.

I'm still wondering why DBS seems to be far more common than a pistol, if both are available from GS12.

    ...

Imho the game shouldn't force a playstyle.

Variance. I found two pistols (Q1) in toilets the first two days. I also recently just received a DB shotgun around Day 5-6. I don't know if finding the pistol in toilets is intentional. The game isn't forcing a playstyle it simply reduced the availability of better gear early game. You can play however you want. If you want to nerdpole to the top of the roof on Day 1 you can. It just won't be super rewarding.

In terms of A19E, why not just play the game and see how it feels. Once it goes stable, you can always mod it to your heart's content. It seems pretty inevitable that someone will create a modlet to alter the loot balance.

Ah, ok gamestage sounds reasonable. I assume there is some xml where i can look up what gamestages are needed for what "age"?

But the backdraw is, so i can now basically stop looting and just fight zombies to level up until my gamestage reaches the next level. As somebody wrote already here, i would waste time will not find anything better anyway, instead it's better to safe up the loot crates (especially the special ones) to open later when they can have spawned better things...

The stages for loot tiers are in the patch notes:

    • Tech 0 (GS 1-11) – Primitive tools, weapons and armor including a bow and the blunderbuss.
    • Tech 1 (GS 12) – Iron or similar melee items and armor and and the first proper firearms like a pistol or double barrel shotgun.
    • Tech 2 (GS 50) – The best melee items, bows and armor and mid range firearms like a pump-action shotgun.
    • Tech 3 (GS 91) – The most advanced firearms like an M60 or the Sniper Rifle.

I think one of the advantages of the new system is that it disincentivizes cheesing the loot rooms of the larger POIs in the first week since there's no point. You are better off just going through the quest progression and the smaller POIs.  If you want to min/max by not opening crates you can but that doesn't sound fun to me. I'd rather open the loot chests and start accumulating ammo, armor, and mods.

  12. In the dev thread multiple people were posting problems and in most cases they had not removed mods and/or had not started a new map. I would wipe the saves folder and generated worlds folder, delete all mods, and verify the cache through steam or reinstall.  I have generated two RWG maps and have not had any trouble finding the trader on both maps.
