  1. LOL I feel your pain!! We have this same problem with our pets and npcs... they seem to crave leaping off into the spikes if any are available.. lol
  2. Thanks for the info Kat. You also need Gauges to make Consoles which are needed for the small generator, iirc. ( i did not have a smith or mechanic at the time). Pretty sure it was for the generator. I was making a tons of things at the time tho.
  3. I can't answer all of that for you, but oi can answer the book part. The game is set so you have to use the gun workbench to work with your guns. Gun patterns (iirc) shouldn't be dropping (at least my group has found zero gun patterns), so you probably spawned it into the game. Spawning the book and learning it will let you know it for like 3 minutes before you un-learn it. They want us to use the gun bench. - - - Updated - - - yay i'll take some of them gauges! lolol - - - Updated - - - Adult Goats that your breed yourself, were giving Rotten meat, instead of raw meat.
  4. Yay to everything except this, lolol... We're 444 days in, and I think me and my room mate have found maybe 4. - - - Updated - - - Steel bars?? I'd use them if I had known about them! where to make? how have i missed these? lol
  5. I solved (most) of our magic animal problems by making the farm walls full solid blocks all the way around then (top open). you can add a ladder (bottom rung missing) to get in and out of the pins. We just use a door, and they seem to be okay for the most part, except the goats, those evil, genius goats.
  6. Vanilla game you can shoot through those blocks. Advanced Crossbow is not in the vanilla game. I'd assume its similar to why the new guns have trouble hitting vanilla animals. Tho I could have sworn we've shot through frames and trussing on the mod... try Iron Bars if you need something solid to shoot through? It's been out go to.
  7. Problem is, this doesn't always work for everyone. For example, I can do this myself for my MTAR but for my PSG-1 I cannot. I have ot pass it to a friend to do it for me. - - - Updated - - - You need to build stations for the NPCs.. Cooking, Mechanic, Farm, Weaponsmith. Once you craft their station, collect the proper NPC, tell them to follow you, lead them where you want them to work, and place the station. This will created your worker and consume the npc. Little girl for farmer, any adult male for smith and mechanic, and any adult female for cook. (I forgot which one the guard station used, but we dont use it because it was broken for us. would send errors when we loaded him) - - - Updated - - - Make sure to put your rain collectors in a sealed location or a little away from your base. The water can get kinda crazy!
  8. sometimes is also just bugs out and you cant do it yourself. sometimes passing it to a friend and they will be able to do it for you.
  9. Taming an animal is no different than harvesting a resource, with the exception that if your inventory is full it disappears rather than falling on the ground. any food and drink can expire (save for cans and bottled water) you must have looted something at some point that went bad, and when you collected the cow, it just dropped out of the world. I'm fairly sure i've collected animals and had them go into my hotbar as it was the only empty slot. - - - Updated - - - I think she needs to be within like 5 blocks of where you want to place the station, and it has to be the little girl npc, not a grown woman.
  10. Sorry, I must have missed that part.. I will relay that to the server owner. thank you.
  11. *My friends on the server keep talking about quests they got on log in, that have to do with using specific weapons and killing specific things with them. I have yet to get any of these quests. *After Placing a farmer, the first time we interact with her, a nullref error scrolls. after that shes fine. *Shutter Doors will not allow non-player entities to pass through them. Nor can we shoot through the opened door. *New Guns wont hit wolves and bears. (Or rather, don't reliably hit) *We run battlemetrics to keep an eye on our servers without having to be on the server........ Some NPCs are throwing an Errors "CrafterWorkScript: Crafter has no inventory" .... It's hard to tell which ones are doing it, cause it seems like even if they are working, this error can still pop up..... This error will spam BM so badly that it actually will lag and lock up the webpage.... we're trying to figure out what is causing this error. We are pretty sure this error is related or caused by the NPCs that suddenly stop working, even when they have parts and food to work with. Sometimes, like with the farmer, i've even seen them appear to be working, while actually producing nothing. *Baby farm animals are able to spawn through walls and doors.... sneaky devils. *Goats seem to only be giving birth to Male goats.
  12. "new" computer with windows 7? wouldn't "new" be windows 10? maybe if you updare it might fix?
  13. I found this earlier in the thread: Q:Having an issue with the rolling garage door, i have built a concrete floor framed in the doorway with concrete (all reinforced concrete) tried to place rolling garage door and it keeps telling me, cant place here, block below is not solid. any hints as to what im doing wrong? A: This is on the issues list. You can build on dirt, asphalt or stone... I'd suggest putting asphalt for the block you're building on, and the lowest block on each side and try that. You can then replace the blocks as long as you keep the door supported while you're doing it. I think when it says "solid" it is referring to the Ground underneath the "Blocks" that you are placing the door in. I think that you have to start with "solid" terra firma, and only have one man made block, and then the door. - - - Updated - - - Neither have I. I think they are super rare drops (from harvesting, not looting). I've only found 2 gems so far as well.
  14. you don't -need- an exo suit to get exo suit parts.. you can find them in certain houses, in the nuke plants, ect.. you can use the Rad suit (that you can craft) or if you fine a well bunker you can get a quest for a full hazmat suit. this will get you into the burnt forest areas where you can find more houses that have exobags. and as mentioned above, the plasma boss can drop pieces, and I -think- the wall breakers can too? you only -need- the exo suit if you want to go into the RED zones. (not the burnt forest that's got radiation, but the full one Red off the map area). this area will kill you pretty quickly with just the xrad / hazmat on. I noticed when I'm in the red zone with my exo suit powered, my sanity still drops, but it takes a while. (my sanity now says it's at 3500% dunno if this is a bug or what tho) Before the new hud and the bee patch my sanity would just flux in the 100% range, it would go up and down but never over 100. Anyway, in the radioactive areas, i noticed, even with the exo suit on, my sanity would decrease similarly to if I was doing a horde night without the suit. anywho, my point was, you dont need the suit to get the suit, it's out there. and it's awesome once you have it. ^_^ i love how the powered suit sounds.
  15. you can get some from nuke plants as well.. for the burned area we used a full xrad suit + hazmat jacker (since it covers shirt slot), and we were some what okay, but to go into the red zone you can only use a powered exosuit. maybe try taking some rad shots or pills to help with the radiation?
  16. Try uninstalling the launcher too.. Apparently it was causing problems for several people today from the update it did. - - - Updated - - - try my above solution, Symox
  17. my husband was having the same problem. we ended up having to uninstall both the mod and the launcher, and doing it over again, then he was able t oconnect. - - - Updated - - - that could work! - - - Updated - - - Try it with a powered Exo-suit.
  18. Would be nice if the farmer would work with the unupgraded box tho.
  19. Try grilled or boiled meat? maybe they wont eat cornbread now for the slightly hurt (wiki doesnt get updated often)
  20. Yes they stack. I had one fridge power unit powering 3 "tops". one ontop of the other and one to the side. Seems as long as you can make sure they are connected you can stack how ever name you need around the power unit. Top Top Power-Top ^ is what i had. - - - Updated - - - From the wiki: If a survivor is not hurt, or very close to full health, they will look for low tier food (cornBread, eggboiled, 1 unit each time) If they are slightly hurt, they will look for medium tier food (cornBread, grilledMeat, boiledMeat, 2 units each time) If they are badly hurt, they will look for high tier food (meatStew, vegetableStew, 5 units each time)
  21. lol because they are nasty guests... lolol
  22. it wasn't a tip, it was just adding my experience to what he was saying as well
