A few people were asking if it was possible to make a mod where the player could be a zombie. I found this interesting but ultimately not as interesting as the player being a vampire. More gameplay potential. So i asked a sphere about some mechanics and voila, vampire mod.

Main features(think about lore regarding vampires):

 

you must drink blood to survive, animal will do in a pinch but human is much better

human blood and blood bags have powerful buffs

craft a coffin to mark your base and respawn, in a dark place because.....

sunlight will burn you, thankyou sphere for that mechanic, the light level is adjustable in the xml

sunscreen spf100 will protect you for a while

popnpills and other places where you can find blood packs and sunscreen are vital to your survival

weather survival is off because, well, youre a vampire(thanks jax)

vampire claws and nightvision craftable and repairable with human blood and blood packs(thanks khaine for the invis hand item)

vampire claws can take down a human or regular zombie fairly quickly

lots of human npcs to harvest blood from

some npcs will attack on sight, recognizing you for what you are, others will fight back if attacked

zombies find vampires quite tasty

anything you attempt to ingest other than blood is harmful

bandages and first aid kits are only helpful to stop bleeding

there are a few human enclaves, approach with caution

trader pois are out, only a few wandering traders

most vanilla items and recipes remain, how useful some are to vampires is questionable

a few custom entites/decos(thanks gup and xyth)

bats will provide a helpful buff when they "attack" you

Vampire catches fire at night

There is no sun at night as it will catch fire at night

Please correct this not catch fire at night

 

I really liked the mod could add more bufer more weapons and more vampire outfits

 

The NPS are very strong 50 meters they kill me:fencing:

Please see the post in mods, andreden has rebuilt the mod, the mechanic for burning in daytime, not at night works now. Plan is to add more stuff like unique items etc. Its up to andreden now as i am not working on the mod any longer.
