ESC key started to bring up console... then errors...

A couple of players mentioned they couldn't bring up the ESC menu and it just showed the console.  They had to ALT + F4 to exit the game.

 

I had the same issue today and checking the logs there seemed to be an issue with 'loot.xml' being referenced by 2 different mods ( 'Cruiser' and 'GTX M3' ) so I removed these mods to check and now I got a server error and the server won't start correctly, so I removed all mods to try a fresh start and still no joy.

Not sure what to do now as I don't currently have any mods present so thought the issue should go away.

Actually looking again at one of the previous logs maybe it wasn't the mods as they were listed as a warning only.  Yet the same error appears after.

Remove all mods.  validate game install.  Load one mod at a time, and check for errors.  With so many mods, most of which might not even be updated for the latest release, there is no other way to check for conflicts.

1. Stop your server.
2. Go to File Manager\Saves\WorldName\YourGameName
3. Locate the Power.dat file and click the globe beside it to download a copy. (for backup purposes)
4. Tick the box to the left of the Power.dat file
5. Click Delete (on the bar near the top)
6. Start your server and check the logs to see if the error returns.
7. If the error doesn't return then try connecting to the server.

The interesting thing when I looked for this file is that around the time of the error it looks like this was auto-renamed.

This is a dedicated server - not sure how I validate the install other than locally.  As I stated above the error has persisted even after removing all the mods.  As you've recommended, I was about to start adding them back one by one to see which may have been causing the problem.

Okay so I manually renamed the 'power.dat' file and the server has started without any mods.

Re-uploaded all mods and server seems to have started fine so it does look like the issue was 'power.dat'
