I've been playing since A16, and IMHO, this game keeps getting better with each new Alpha. Sure they change somethings that I liked, but I learned to adapt and change my play style. I still do stealth builds, and it still works, you just have to find new ways of doing things, I still die here and there, but it teaches me how not to let that happen to me again. Look people, if this 67 year old fart gamer, with almost no hand eye coordination left anymore, can learn to adjust and adapt, you can too. What is the challenge to doing things the same way all of the time. Watch a few youtube video to help you learn new ways if need be.

I would use a spear, early game, as a second melee weapon, it has long reach, nice for hitting zombies through obstacles. It also makes a great hidden closet/door openingner, instead of using your few precious arrows early game, throw the spear to open it. And you always recover the spear afterwards.

I know workbenches changed, in A19 anyway. It could go from working to non-working and vice versa of course. So if I found a working workbench near my base early game that was working and I had a quest there, I would cancel the quest. Of course now with A20, there are only non-working ones. I noticed the same with cars, as far as their stage in completeness, in A19, but haven't yet noticed that with A20 yet.

I cut down pretty much low hanging tree, I hate going through them and getting ambushed by a zombie on the other side.

So backwards from A19, I used a ladder tower horde base with a cat walk to where I standing, I had to make sure nothing was above the ladders.

Another option is this handy-dandy map previewer, which works with A20: https://kui.github.io/7dtd-map/. Move the Prefabs slider to 0 to get rid of all the red Xs (I already did that for this screenshot; you'll see).
Thank you, that's was what I was looking for!

So on that same thought, how does one see the whole map like they show on the seed thread?

I have the junk or sledge turrets, that I carry around, to help me with the fight. I only have the light and additional storage mods on mine so far, still the drone is a great help. The light mod currently doesn't affect your stealth, like your headlamp does. The carry capacity is the biggest benefit to me, and well as an early warning device. Which is especially helpful while mining, looting or lost in your menu system

I found mine for sale at the trader
Same for me. But after seeing how much resources it requires to make, especially the rare acid, I wouldn't buy it again.

I was not opposed to the nerf per say, I thought is was a bit too aggressive, maybe more like 75% and 50% reduction with a corresponding reduction of material costs. That being said, I prefer not having it, as much of my horde base used the affected shapes and I spent the last horde night doing a lot of repairs during the battle> I upgraded the most vulnerable bits to steel after the horde night as I finally was able to buy a crucible from the trader.

Acid and Wheels are the gate for vehicles it seems. In the old days you could chop up cars and tires for wheels and it solved that problem, now with the scarcity of wheels we have people who still have not gotten a motorcycle at 50 days into the game.
Which why I skip the motorbike and go straight to the motorcycle. Either by buying parts from the trader or pointing enough points into building one.

It's still a great way of collecting clay, which you need anyway plus you collect a reward.

I use second copy to copy all of my save game files to my dropbox account everyday at 6 AM. As a bonus, this allows to copy the save files to any computer and continue from my last save.

Just head canon that the 7.62 in game is light loaded 7.62x39. That could probably be loaded and fire reliable out of an action designed to fire at 30-30's safe pressure range.
Looks more like the 7.62 NATO round to me, the case looks too long for the 7.62x39 IMHO

Day 19, I'm using tier 3 iron crossbow for stealth kills(88 points damage with iron arrows and one mod), just crafted a tier 3 double barreled shotgun to replace my tier 6 pipe shotgun, I like the pipe shotgun, but reload is too slow even wearing a bandolier. I'm still using my tier 5 pipe machine gun as I it is good enough for questing/looting/wandering horde with cops, but use my tier 3 AK for horde nights. I have a tier 3 9mm pistol as opposed to the pipe revolver, which I like, but the 9mm hits a lot harder. I normally only use pistols on horde nights, not something I carry otherwise.

I am fine with it. Bigger inventory would mean a lot faster progression. And for me the progression is too fast already. (even if T5 POI´s are freaking deathtraps now beeing level 50. That crack a book skyscraper is insane.)
SNIP
I like the occasional tier 5 quest challenge, but they can be a pain when that is the only ones you can do. So glad, with the change in A20 that you can go to previous tier quests now

Some of the new POIs are connected and are considered as one POI.

I'm on day 18 and have already starting making 7.62 rounds and a few shotgun rounds. For normal looting I use primarily use stealth build with arrows and melee as quite kills, with shotgun as back-up and pipe machine gun for O-@%$#e moments.

45-70... Light... 😆
LOL, as in light(low) pressure cartridge

That was my hope as well, which also makes sense as lever action rifles are really not high powered rifles, but lighter loads (low pressure), like the .30-30, .45-70 and assorted pistol rounds. That being said, I'm on day 18 and haven't found one .44 cartridge. I wonder if they don't start appearing until later game stages, when the pistol is available?

I'm still doing stealth build, zombie sense is off. Yes the auto triggers are still there, but I still quite successful at it. Love clearing out POIs with bow/crossbow. I prefer to save my ammo for wandering hordes/ surprise attacks in POIs and of course horde nights. Even at that, I build my horde base so I can use melee weapons as well. I'll armor up for horde night but otherwise light armor is my thing.

There are plenty of times that I find a higher tier ite but has lower overall stats as the one I'm using. As BFT said above, even your crafted items will have varying stats. So there are times I don't use a tier 6 item over an good tier 5, even if you consider the extra mod slot, the lower item has better stats.

The only two are use are Khaines food and water meters on the hud and his lockable inventory slots. Something I wise the Pimps would include in vanilla.

I understand the idea was to keep people out and about looting and questing. Otherwise once high enough level, you'll never need to leave your bace except for maybe mining. I still enjoy crafting and usually craft most of my tools and firearms because of how I spec out what what type of weapons I prefer and one can't trust relying on RNG to get those items for you.

Beakers. Do they exist?

The first one I found was at a trader on day 22, I bought it and some acid and built my Chem Station, two days later the the same trader had a chem station for sale. LOL
