Had the same issue using Fall Creator version. Found that the latest update had installed two items and I could not even launch vanilla anymore. Removed one of the two and could launch. YMMV.

I have had zero issues using the launcher and have 3 mods currently on my system I swap between. As is often the case the bazillion users not having issues are not posting, it is only the people having issues that you see here. At first I was put off by how often I saw the launcher being 'pushed' at me in posts and it got my hackles up and I did not install for a long time. Downloading and using the launcher has been a huge joy for me and eliminated some of the simple mistakes I would make.

I have been playing for about an hour. Did an uninstall/reinstall with the launcher of the mod via the launcher and made sure not to use a previous save. Black screen due to EAC being enabled? Are you running it from the launcher?

Same issue, but log file is not really helpful for launcher. What is helpful is when I kill the 7 Days to die exe process via task manager I get the following windows error: 7daystodie.exe - fatal Application Exit Unknown file version c:\<install directory>\managed\assembly-csharp.dll I even downloaded the correct dll again from GitHub Update: Yes there was a bad file version. Doh! Thought I had locked my steam download to 16.2 but in reality it had updated to 16.3
