  1. huh, I didn't know about modlets til now. Thanks. But I still think my point stands, regardless of my playstyle I just think it isn't a good game feature. But I suppose that's simply a matter of opinion...

I can't build a compound bow till I have bows 39, and at day 20 I have bows 3. and I have to read one specific book over and over as the only way to increase my leveling on that and unlock those recipes. So at my current pace I should get bows 39 at...day 250? Am I missing something in how this stuff works or is leveled recipe locks terribly balanced? Back when I first played this on console, even with multiplayer I could only get near day 90 without getting bored and walking away from the game for a few months, are all these cool new features like robotics and cars only stuff I can get if I stick out for hundreds of hours of RNG grind to hopefully get enough of the right books?
  3. Land mines in wasteland is one of the biggest issues I've taken with the game. Like, my god, all it does is make me avoid the biome like the plague. I won't go there for air drops or quests or POIs, not for @%$#. I won't pretend I understand everything about game design, but it doesn't feel like good design, because it doesn't "add challenge" or anything, it just adds tedium and de-incentivizes players to explore. It may as well just be pockets of radiation in the map. Let's just get rid of them.
