Thanks a lot.
Any one able to identify what is the issue? My Radio Towers are not calling in any survivors. Been like this for over 5 ingame days. I have 2 radio towers!

Hi, I first wanted to say thanks for creating this mod. It really really really enhances vanilla. I have a few questions myself:
In reference to the post above about pigs, I too noticed that my goats reproduce but my pigs have never reproduced once. My chickens and rabbits eat food and drink water but my larger live stock (pigs and goats) do not eat or drink water.
I too have a couple questions question!
1) Is there an XML file for the mod or someplace I can somehow look at the code to kind of figure out what's actually going on? For example, I know the wiki has some basic info like what NPC's eat, but I am looking for really specific things like how many blocks away does an NPC eat from, and how far does water travel in dirt for farming, and how far do the repellents work. Just a lot of little questions on mechanics.
2) How do you get a donkey / mule?

Farm animals are being fixed, since the bug was finally identified.
1) some ranges are in xml, some are harcoded. I can tell you out of my head that plants look for water in a 7 block radius, and NPCs look for food either inside their own inventory or in a 16 block radius, give it or take it... It's a good idea not to have too many fridges near survivors, since they will look for the closest one, and it's harder to keep multiple fridges with the correct supplies... Also remember they don't need direct access to it, like the animals, so they may find one on a different room and try to use that one... I will review this procedure when possible.
2) there are a few way actually: find the farmer npc and finish the quest, be lucky enough to loot one (VERY rare and only drops on one place), or be lucky enough to get one on Pacco's slot machines. Quest can only be done once, but you can loot more then one... They are not currently breedable, but since Tormentedemu is making nice stuff with mounts, who knows maybe they'll get to be a lot more useful in the future.
IMPORTANT NOTE TO EVERYONE: next patch will bring weather seasons. It will all be configurable via xml, so that server managers or individual players can opt out of it or configure their own season distribution. The patch is not far away, so I thought I would give a heads up to let you guys discuss that with your groups to make a decision before it drops.

But it says solar bank can be crafted, but it can not
As I said, they are both made by survivors. Specifically mechanics.
The receipts are not on autolearn list, so you will need to acquire some and teach them... My advise is not to try until you skill them all the way up.

Still unable to craft a solar bank/cell at workstation nor mill.
Solar cells are only aquired in traders or craftable by survivors after you teach them. Unless i'm forgetting something

I would like to see a group of bandits against the players from time to time, just like the roving zombies do.

Remove your .anm files (there should be quite a few). Worst that can happen is that your animals will lose some progression. That means it will take a bit for them to start breeding again and to stop running away from you, but it's possible that wont even happen.
I'll make another animal review soon, after I get pass yet another tough work period.

That's a weaponsmith survivor exclusive receipt. The tool that automatically determines the workstations always gets fooled by those. We'll fix when possible, as well as the wiki.with limited time and manpower it's hard to keep everything fully updated.
For people with problems breeding animals, my advise would be to clean up your animal files. The worst that can happen is for them to loose some progress but they may start working again. All my test server animals are still breeding and i haven't Priorized that particular problem.

There was a quick patch to address bee items and sniper bandits, but due to some internal disagreement it wasn't anounced. Its still available for both client and server, and i've been too busy to touch any modding, unfortunately.
As for animals they're still working on my tests. Try picking them a placing them again, but i'll check them when i can.
We will be doing another official patch soon enough, i hope.

Survivor will suffer a slight redesign, because of shared containers... Just need to recover some strength and gather some momentum, as other funnier things keep popping up.

Just return to starvation and checked new UI. Guys, you forget to add temperature to main UI, its game about overheating, so its looks weird and extreme unhandy at least.
Let's agree to disagree. I don't know the demand for that, for I don't feel any urgent need for it. As you said, being a game about survival you need to watch for warning signs, not expect them do be delivered to you...

Lovely, my 210+ day save is now impossible to use... the Rifles 5/5 quest is completely broken. I keep getting http://prntscr.com/i3owck spammed, and the quest itself won't function properly.
The way you ask for help is very interesting,and i'm fully motivated to take a look. We will take a peak when possible, if someone already peaked the xml feel free to throw us a tip.

I mean a sniper. It's a bit more futurيstic, but the use mechanic is cool to mitigate its "power".

Hey creator, Yes! Creator! are you planing on updating the PSG1 texture ? I think it needs some serious rework (Me and many others) it looks really boxy and doesn't fit to the game right now.Even the Vanilla one is better Also, many other firearms don't quite fit and need a bit of rework ofc not like the PSG1 but still...Character doesn't hold them properly the attachments you can barely notice and their textures and crappy...Shhh okay, it's time to stfu now and stop complaining.The mod is very nice and thank you for what have you created
P.S Any plans for NEW big Sniper Rifle (for Ex 50. Call or something similar) But, no Auto or Semi-Auto because would be too OP.Bolt Action would be enought.

No, no plans to update any gun at this moment, and it wont happen before A17 for sure. There is already a 50cal sniper rifle ingame.

Without it, Linux Dedicated Servers will crash/ load forever. I have to update the file manually every time I update the mod on my server. The client mod should receive the patch as well.
It is just a typo that has to be corrected.
That's no typo... That's the original class name for SDX, and everything was made with Windows in mind, not Linux. It's already fortunate that it works in Linux without needing a specific build... Just clarifying with it's builds like that and why I don't see it as an error that NEEDS urgent fixing, not trying to be a bitch or anything.

the RSS feed on the launcher doesn't work for me, so i cant read the patch notes there. also --- I cant find the bee stuff in my menus, or the creative menu, and our server has been updated to the recent patch,.
Check kitchenWorkbench, bigoven, science station and moonshine, just logged in to check... At this point no idea if that will be the final version or not, but hey...
As for the animals, I won't be able to check anything for a while. Maybe I can do it by Friday, maybe... If you don't wanna risk them, pick them up until then.

After my first post here in forum about MP taming dog and claim ownership issue, in few days you release the fix.

I think still have some issue about... "breeders"
2 dogs already dead because they doesn't eat, we put dogs cookies and murky water in the breeders but they still doesn' t eat.
we follow each step in Wikidot http://starvationmod.wikidot.com/dogs1 page but still can't find any solution to it.
Hope fix this, Thank you again for fast response.
Are you using dog troughs to put the food in?

Confirming this issue. The new recipes for bees-related foods require cookware but the 'craft' button is only shown in the kitchen table. However the kitchen table does not have the cookware add-on. The Big Oven is the station with the cookware add-on. Looks like they were switched. In other words, you cannot craft these new recipes. Haven't tried to craft the beekeepers clothing yet.
Also insect cream does not cure bee stings even though the text from bee stings says it can.
I'll post more things if/when I find them.
I'll do a quick patch if i arrive home at decent hours tonight

I love the idea that now you can make jar of honey and eventually mass produce apple pies. Got a few questions about the new beehive though:
1. The queen is supposed to be found in the wild. Now does this mean I have to search unexplored territory to find her? I rode my bike for several hours and could not find a wild beehive.
2. Can you be more specific about finding the queen in dead trees. Does this mean tree trunks or those burnt out trees? Or what kind of trees are you talking about?
3. Will farmer NPCs be able to harvest these beehives for you?
4. Do player-planted flowers count or only those found in the wild (ex, created/placed by rng). What about flowers that were planted on fertilized soil?
5. What counts as flowers? Goldenrod was obvious since it was in the video but what about other types?
Since I'm already here, there are some other questions I have an animals:
1. I found goats but what is the purpose of them? Can you milk them? Or are they only for meat? I only a male/female pair so I don't want to experiment and accidently kill the female.
2. Is there a limit on number of cows and cows spawning in the wild? Ever since I started breeding cows (1 male and the rest females) I have not seen a cow/bull in the wild.
3. Is there a limit on number of cows in one area? With a male/female pair will they just breed on indifinitely or is there a limit?
4. Would be nice to show the hitpoints on the animals so we don't accidently kill them while harvesting them.

Can you elaborate on this perhaps...? How would I go about cleaning it up (short of deleting the folder entirely) and... what exactly would that 'do'?
You can either delete all files in the folder (the animals will reset stats, including tamed ones), or delete files older then a few days. Since they weren't working, deleting dog files shouldn't be a problem. Deleting recent anm files can cause some trouble, since some can have farm animals that are already reproducing at a good rate, but its not catastrophic.

- capped rat spawning to 5 per 15 blocks
- DUST2DEATH UI changes, as requested for some players
- another fix for pet taming. People not able to own pets with the colar, should now be able to.
- fixed animal files. They should now be working correctly and deleting on death / despawning
- when getting a new pet, you will need to put it down and "tame" it at least once... That's the process, you have to "tame" it at least once, even if its a special pet, so be prepared.
- File management should be better now, with auto deletion. There are still quite a few files, since there are many animals in the world, but they should be automatically controlled now. Will need feedback on this.
- Again, check our WIKI if you want to learn more about pets, taming and trading animals.
[*]It is still advisable that server managers do a initial cleanup of the animal files folder (located on the save game folder).
[*]herbal antibiotics do NOT cure infection 3rd stage anymore

Things seems to be going fairly normal from what i can tell, except the "crafter has no inventory" errors. Crafters will have food, will have materials to work with, and a job to do, but will just stop working and stand there. Then that error will start scrolling every 30 seconds. We haven't yet been able to figure out why this happens. all we've been able to do is just kill that worker to get the error to stop. if we put a new one in, the error will start scrollings again. if we wait a few real days, we can get a new worker to work without the errors for a while.
Survivors are next on my list after todays patch Thank you for all the reports.

I'll take a look when possible... I know energy has some problems when it's near a chunk frontier, not sure if that's the case for either of you.
NOTE TO EVERYONE - Farm animals were indeed bugged, but I think I fixed them. And here's another small tip to you guys, before next patch. Build some roofs for your farm animals.
