    Summary: When activating a quest, the max zombie count is reached and zombies are not spawned. Thus making clear quests impossible.

    Bug Description:

     

    Detailed steps to reproduce the bug:

    1) Have the max number of zombies spawned

    2) Activate a new quest

    3) Zombies do not spawn properly for the quest activation

     

    Actual result: When activating a quest while the max number of zombies are spawned. No zombies past the cap will be spawned. This is much more common in multiplayer servers. our server had 3 people in different quests all experience the issue at the same time. 

     

    Expected result: When you activate a quest the zombies are spawned properly. This should ignore the max zombie count. Even if the zombie count is reached, activating a quest should ignore the cap. Zombies from quest spawn should be decoupled from max zombie count. Likely should also disable accepting quests while in the middle of horde night after 2200.

    Since there is a global zombie limit this is not really a bug.

    But I valued it as one since it's one of the most frustrating things in this game when you and your friends can't do quests at the same time at different locations.

     

    Here is how is solved this "bug" by adding a simple new setting to the game: A 2nd zombie limit for zombies spawned by chunks/biomes, heatmap etc.

    This drastically improved spawning rates of sleepers when doing a quest and my friends complained a lot less, also ignoring the bedroll inside check for being able to start a quest made questing much more smoothly.

    Although it's not really a bug due to the zombie count being at the cap like you said and the quests should be completable as long as you don't pass every volume while at the cap (once you go below the cap the untouched volumes should spawn and kick in), there may be some better ways to handle some cases. Will have a look.

    This should be better now. We've made lots of changes to how this works, and clear quests now should be able to spawn a reduced amount over the zombie limit cap. Zombie AI will also prioritize based on distance to a player to help out with performance in heavy-cases.
