  • Easy infinite placeable item

    Summary: Any placeable item on toolbelt can be placed infinitely

     

    Game Version: A20 B218

    Platform: PC

    OS/Version: Windows

    CPU Model: AMD Ryzen 5 3600

    System Memory: 16GB

    GPU Model and VRAM: AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT

    Screen Resolution: 2560x1440

    Video Settings: High

    Game mode: MP Host

     

    Did you wipe old saves? N/A-fresh game

    Did you start a new game? Yes

    Did you validate your files? Yes

    Are you using any mods? No

    EAC on or off? On

     

    Status: NEW

     

    Bug Description:

     

    Detailed steps to reproduce the bug:

     

    1) Put any placeable item on toolbelt

    2) Place said item - notice it doesn't disappear from toolbelt

    3) Place infinitely

    4) Profit

     

    Actual result: Any placeable item can be placed infinitely

     

    Expected result: Once placed, the item should disappear from toolbelt

    No it is not. I just did it again and made sure dm and cm were both off. Happens with bed rolls, campfire, and the frames item. Thats all I have made so far to confirm it does it on them

    Yep, cheat mode is on. However, I still believe this is not functioning as intended. Even with the chat mode on, block placement should not be working like this. The game should be playable as a normal mode game unless I access the "z" menu when needed.

    i have tested this several times and cant get it to repro  WITHOUT turning on CM via command line or creation screen.

    cm does do that because builders in game want to build without having to constantly get supplies when they use them up.. if a server has it on, then that is their choice. but CM is off by default so unless it is on, no one knows about it and the infinite item which is working as intended.

     

    not a bug so moving it.
