  • Loot container in house_old_mansard_02 behind a 1000hp block

    NekoPawtato

Summary: Not sure if intentional but one of the loot containers (trash) in house_old_mansard_02 is behind a 1000 hp block

    Game Version: A20.5

    Platform: Steam

    OS/Version: Windows 11

CPU Model: Intel Core i5-12500 3 GHz 6-Core Processor

    System Memory: 32GB

GPU Model and VRAM: Radeon RX 6700 XT 12 GB

    Screen Resolution: 1920x1080

    Video Settings: Fancy Potato (Ultra)

    Game mode: SP

Did you wipe old saves? Not since A20.4 (new pc)

Did you start a new game? Created on 5/20 on A20.5

Did you validate your files? Verified 5/21 on A20.5

Are you using any mods? No

    EAC on or off? On

    Status: NEW

    Bug Description:

Detailed steps to reproduce the bug:

    1) Go to house_old_mansard_02

    2) Make your way to the underground area (right before boss room)

    3) Check the area with the mortician drawers

    Actual result:

You will see a loot container with the bars having 1000hp -- is this intentional? It's not even a super rare container (just trash). Surrounding blocks are 4-5k hp

    Expected result:

    Weaker block?

If I may ask, is there a general rule of thumb for this? Ex: block hp should be no higher than X to reach a container, otherwise we should log a bug for it?

I don't know if you guys build against some kind of POI guidelines, or if it's just up to the POI designer (meaning you would need to consult with them every time if something might be a bug?)

this issue usually is a result from block changes and slipped in under their radar.. that is why we are all testing and reporting like this. :)

as for rule, the difficulty is based on what tier it is... obviously. some puzzles/paths require decisions to be made (take the easy way and miss something maybe that was hidden or run off the path to get that bone in trash) or it could be handful of ammo or food.

when i smack into any thing with high hp.. i simply walk away for easier stuff.

but yes to we make the tickets and or contact them via discord to see if that was purposely done or an oversight. we always check because the designers may have a reason for doing something and thats why we ask them.

    keep on truckin :)

A general rule of thumb we use is reward vs effort.  For example, lower tier hidden loot is usually hidden behind easily breakable blocks, while higher tier loot such as hidden stash crates will require more effort to get to (e.g. longer path, higher HP obstacles, etc.)
