  • Nighttime 'Green Mist/Fog' falls into dug mines/pits and turns semi-solid (like water textures)

    Summary: During nighttime, a green fog/mist/miasma floats above ground.  If I dig a mine, at some point a green semi-liquid layer will appear at bottom of mine... acting like green water.  Cannot be removed.

    Did you wipe old saves? (Yes)

    Did you start a new game? (Yes)

    Did you validate your files? (Yes)

    Are you using any mods? (No)

    EAC on or off?  On (I think)

     

    Status: NEW

     

    Feral Sense:  ON

     

    Detailed steps to reproduce the bug:

     

    1) Wait until darkness; green fog appears around my base

    2) Dig a hole in the ground; It was @8 blocks deep when rocks at bottom of mine began to turn green

    3) Green 'see-throuh' texture appears over rocks, resembling and acting similar to the normal water texture

     

     

    Expected result: Meah... doesn't hurt anything, as far as I can tell.  Just cosmetic.

    Just to be a little clearer, the texture of the rocks doesn't turn... the mist/fog puddles as a liquid at the bottom, filling the hole as I dig it out.  It looks/acts like the default water texture (except green), but you can breathe under it without causing damage.  I dug all around the sides where the green liquid forms and as I break out dirt/ore voxels, the green liquid will fill into the new open spaces.  When I quit for tonight, the volume of the liquid appeared to be 3-4x more than as pictured.

     

    Low priority fix... but it was amusing to suddenly find myself enveloped by it

    Oh, just a UI mod, nothing else.  Shouldn't cause any issues... but I'll disable and see if it's still there....

     

    No Change.  Zero mods.  Green lake still in mine

    Good catch.  The mine was @ 200-300 meters from the land claim, well outside its border... but the green does go away when the claim block is turned off.  Weird... so not a bug then, maybe.

    I just encountered the same thing below my base (and yes I have the land claim boundaries showing too). So I'm wondering if the land claim protected region also has a fixed height above and below the land claim block? If so, does that mean zombies can spawn in a tunnel far enough below your base? Or, I guess, if you built a high tower base, they could still spawn high enough above the land claim block.  Bug or feature...?
