  • 7D2D v1 Crashes Shortly after Launch

    • Version: v1.0 - Stable

Summary: V1.0 crashes shortly after launched (Steam). The last beta before v1.0 was working fine. This was my first go at playing 1.0. Never had any problems with any version before like this (years of playing). Tried down-rev-ing to a prior unstable build and then back to 1.0... No Help.

Game Version: v1.0 - Version Stable (is all that Steam tells me)

    OS/Version: Windows 11 Pro

    CPU Model: Intel i7-10750H

    System Memory: 32 GB

GPU Model and VRAM: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 with Max-Q Design 8192MB GDDR6 (Game Ready Driver Version 560.70)

    Screen Resolution: 1920x1200

Video Settings: Game won't launch so I can't check this.

Game mode:  Doesn't get that far. Never get to choose

    Map: Doesn't get that far

Did you wipe old saves? No

Did you start a new game? No - Game crashes before you get to choose

Did you validate your files? Yes - First thing I tried and tried it twice. Once before and after rebooting.

Are you using any mods? No
Did you try to reproduce without mods? N/A

    EAC on or off? ON

    Bug Description:

Detailed steps to reproduce the bug:

    1) Launch the game from Steam...

    2) See the initial small splash screen

    3) See the Mouse Pointer change to a Stone Arrow tip

    5) See the desktop once again

Actual result: Game is crashing apparently due to problems the the 2D Shader.

Unloading 6 Unused Serialized files (Serialized files now loaded: 0)
d3d11: failed to create 2D texture shader resource view id=41 [D3D error was 887a0005]

d3d11: failed to create 2D texture shader resource view id=42 [D3D error was 80070057]
    Crash!!!

Expected result: Expected the game to become playable

That helped.... I was able to start a stand-alone game after the Clean Driver Install... Plus Steam File Validation replacing four files.

While I can now start a stand-alone... I can't seem to connect to any servers.

Hi, technical issues like this would be best for General Support, but we can try to help with this here too. Lets start with a log file
