A16 Vanilla with Copper and Zinc to make brass A16.3

I seen mentioned on here and steam the want for more brass, especially those that want to use auto turrets. I know this has been done in other mods but I figured id post mine here for use in those that just want vanilla play style but with the added new ores to be able to make brass. This will add Zinc and Copper ore in most biomes except desert and water. They are only found underground and not in rocks on surface. The recipe for brass is made in chem station with no skills needed to make.

 

Im still fairly new to this and im working on my own mod and this is built into it and so far no bugs. If you find any let me know. This is was edited into 16.3 b3, tho it might work with all a16 versions but use at your own risk.

Couple question about the mod;

 

Where can I find Zinc and/or Copper? (Which different biomes)

Apart from adding copper and zinc, does it add anything else?

Where is the brass crafted once both ores have been obtained?

 

If it works how I think it works, I'd use this for sure. Always running out of brass myself lol

its all underground just like iron ore and coal etc. the only 2 biomes it does not spawn in are desert and radiated. the brass is then made in chemistry station using 2 zinc 2 copper to give 4 brass. thats all this adds. the rest is pure vanilla

Sorry to sidetrack the thread somewhat, but what kind of mod are you working on (besides the ores) if you don't mind my asking? Just curious, don't feel like you have to answer if you don't plan to release it or aren't ready to talk about it. I like seeing all the interesting things people come up with for this game.

took vanilla and reworked some perks and combined others, added classes a little different then others, you can pick a class that gets a flat bonus once chosen and starter quest done and will tier more quests to improve the bonuses. these classes can only be chosen at start or thru a very rare quest that drops off a horde night boss.

 

Made radiated zones useful by adding chance to get radiated dirt from soil in radiated zones ( also boosted hazmat suits to actually be useful in these zones) this dirt is used in a few items the top one being a power plant fueled by special fuel cells

its still pretty early in its devlopment im hoping to push it out to my server players on its on server soon.

Can you just link the changes for this mod please, as I have a few other mods already and not going to overwrite the entire directory so if you could just either link changed files or note which files you've changed please

The biomes.xml items.xml materials.xml and blocks.xml and recipes.xml are what are changed.

hey grrmisfit

I am planning to mod the ore generation of silver, gold and diamond and to add copper and zinc like you did.

Could you help me with the copper and zinc part? You've done all the work, I just want to know how to do it myself.

I understand xml files well enough to edit them. (but I do have some questions about layers)

I don't know what to do with the graphics part (the in-world blocks representation and the icons in inventory)

I'll try not to take too much of your time

Sorry to kind of necro a thread but me and some friends just got into playing 7DTD and added this mod with a few others and can't seem to find zinc or copper. Crafting menu shows we can scrap brass but we haven't found any veins. How rare are they and what elevation/biome are best to find them. Also, does the world need to be new or can this be added to an existing world?

Has to be new, and I've found it to be uncommon. I just started up a new server in prep for a17 and i haven't found a vien yet.

 

They can be found in any biome but sand, I would make it more available but I didnt want brass to be super common.
