Sinz
I'm back on the forums!!!! Ok, here is why I'm back on the forums. After seeing whats going on with block placement in A16 previews week 4 and 5 I decided this would be a good time to post this idea. My idea is multi block placement. I've done some pictures to demonstrate what I mean: This is the pop up menu I imagine for multi block placement. Perhaps hold right click to bring it up. So you select line from the pop up menu and now you get block placement previews between the start point of your popup menu to the current position of your cursor. I imagine a 2nd right click would place all the blocks in the preview. See my notes in the picture, there is also a preview of how many blocks will be placed. Sorry for the shotty sketches. Ok so this one is up for discussion. This picture contradicts my previous one because the line isn't following the terrain. So maybe there could be an option to toggle multi block placement to follow terrain. It would be good to have that on a hot key so it could be toggled while the multi block placement is being previewed. So this picture demonstrating un-placable blocks would be what you'd see if you have follow terrain toggled off. I've drawn in a preview of un-placeable blocks even though these frames could in fact bridge that span without falling thus they ARE actually placeable. Perhaps the preview of multi block placement could even calculate the max load and mass of the blocks being placed and show the preview of span and cantilevers to their max and then show them as un-placable.
