Pack Mule

Ok. Here's the scenario. You come out of a hoard night alive but your base is in shambles and not worth the time or effort to rebuild. You remember a really cool plot of land but it's on the other side of Navezgane and there is no way you can spend the time moving all your treasures on your own. What do you do? Hire a pack mule. Go to the nearest Trader and for the right price rent a pack mule who you can load up with a majority of what you have at your old base and move to the new location.  The way this could work is sort of a protect the mule kind of thing.  Load the mule up. point and click the destination and the mule will slowly head out with your gear. Your job is to keep it alive till it gets there. If the mule dies you lose all or a portion of your gear. Just a thought.         It doesn't have to be an actual mule " it could" but that could be the name for a junk mechanical steam powered mobile device. etc.

Pretty sure this idea has been offered many times over, or at least the idea of a packmule. I admit, the purchase and mission part of this idea is a bit more novel, and decently thought out and offered here. I find I need to discuss this, and what I have to say may be discouraging, but I harbor no ill will. If anything, I hope to see if OP can revise or evolve his idea. 1st issue I see is the packmule itself. I personally would prefer a pack animal as well and there might be a mod available for one. I rarely see horses and other pack animals  in the rural area i'm at, other than the ones my family own (only 3 of them) and a couple a friend of the family has, so I imagine they would be fairly scarce or even gone entirely at a zombie apocalypse. Then there's the fact of vehicles in game. Even the bike makes it easier to travel larger distances since there is no encumbrance debuff effect to it while your own inventory is full; minibikes and rest have decent extra inventory slots too. That makes the pack animal kinda nil. As for the mission portion, not a bad idea to make a pack animal kinda viable as an option, but not many people I think like the idea of an escort mission. Plus, not everyone sets up camp near a trader, so just getting to the trader to do so could be a pain. The last thing would be the additional coding needed to implement. There's the map that would need another overhaul to add the points to a new system (that would need to be created as well) to allow something to head to a specific destination, plus the pathing that would need to be added to said system (nothing pack animal related is gonna climb a cliff, go thru a building, or swim a lake). I know the pathing AI for the zombies was a pain to begin with, and has really evolved, but adding more might not be too viable. It would be better for the pack animal to merely follow you and you go to a waypoint you scouted. I still think the vehicles though are the answer we have, and will have, to move your hoard (not horde, =P) to a new location though.
