  1. The first two things I mod out each alpha are Trader closing time and protection zone. This lets me keep my own schedule, and I really don't see any added gameplay value from traders closing. It's just a nuisance, and I can still see him standing there. Open the door, @%$#.

While I would love an option for this, lots of folks would like lots of options for lots of things, so I don't expect the devs to spend much time on it. It takes five minutes to do it myself.

  2. From the beginning of the "Bring Back LBD" movement I have said that the simplest solution was to just remove crafting from the loop. It could have solved both the "spam-crafting" and "stand on cactus" issues with one move. Most of the popular mods that use LBD have some form of this "Action Skills" approach.

Now that crafting might be getting it's very own learn-by-whatever system, I would be interested to hear the arguments against such an Action Skills system in vanilla.

Frankly, the RPG-ish system we have now is my least favorite part of the game, but I'm not going to dilute the point by listing my personal peeves.

I'm just curious to read other opinions as to why action-based LBD wouldn't work.

I didn't even know this was in the game--suddenly got a level 5 as a quest reward. Love it. Only thing missing is the lever animation between rounds - plz, Pimps?

Agree 100% regarding the animation. I was very surprised that we never see the lever in first person. Seems like a missed opportunity for a cool move. Would be a lot better than the ridiculous spinning of the cylinder on revolvers. They could have just made it a semi-auto if they weren't going to show the defining feature. Whatever. Maybe will get updated?

But what if you are eating it WITH your pet....

    As a side dish?

Actually, given there is a small chance of finding a pistol in the toilet, It makes more sense the pistol would be in the tank and not in the bowl....

I remember back in the day, the toilet pistol was often touted as a shout-out to The Godfather. I like to remind folks, because I am a joyless prick, that the gun in that book/movie was never IN the toilet, but taped to the back of the tank. It should make the sound of ripping duct tape when looted.

Problem is they can't / don't have a power attack... otherwise you already can use tools as weapons.

Have you ever tried using a T6 wrench as a weapon? I'm telling you, it's got a pretty decent blunt damage!

Tools without repair function do list power attack damage...
