    And I see a lot of people enjoying it....In previous Alphas water was something I considered once or twice a playthrough, and it was simple.  Loot 5 or 6 houses, take the 50 empty jars you got out of cabinets to a puddle and boil..... BORING.  Now, it's something I have to think about pretty much daily.  I wouldn't classify it as particularly challenging because I haven't died from lack of water or anything but at least it's entertaining.

Thanks for that protip. 😆 JFC Srsly, this one didn't have one until now. *shrug*   Note that it's  a hybrid game, not a full survival game but it's mostly supposed to be about fighting zombies and not be a drought simulator ffs. Being a survival game also doesn't equate to making a sudden and drastic change in how folks have been getting water and that change making all the pretty lakes and rivers more useless than they were. That's calleds dev not having a clear idea  I think they're fantastic scenery but we can't fish, can't boat, and now zeds can spawn there. There's water everywhere but we have to set up big blue water farms if we want the teas, food, glue etc midgame (multiplayer anyway which is what I mostly play) - yeah there'll be enough water but besides the unwanted water farm the change seems very poorly thought out. That's why we have mods though. 😃

    You don't need to wait for modders to fix this for you.  Simply edit the XML to put more murky water in cabinets.  It's probably only changing one number in the loot tables.  Or CM some in magically.  Either way "poof" the problem is gone and the rest of us can enjoy the changes.

    I don't think you'd really want to add books to the starter gear because it would affect everyone of every playstyle and throw off the balance.

     

    Oh, I wasn't suggesting the Fun Pimps make the change to the game, I was suggesting individuals who found it problematic could make those changes fairly easy to their own games.

    The first two are easy edits to make in the xml files, not sure about the third, but you could probably add a few books to the starter backpack maybe?

    But if you wanted to use wrenches wouldn't you be taking 5/5 salvage ops requiring int 10  (15 points) anyway?  I've never even considered needing a stamina reduction for butchering an animal that takes 5 or 6 swings lol. 

     

    But anyway the way I see it, if I'm playing batons I'll already take 10 int and 5 in batons....so with the new t rex I don't need to take 5 str and 5 t rex saving 10 points.  If I also want to spears for example I'll still want 10 in it's parent skill and 5 in spears, still saving the 10 points in the str tree.  It just seemed in the past that I always had to have points in the str tree no matter what skill I chose, now I do not and I think it's great.

    I think your confused how "T-Rex" works now.  If you put points in clubs or spears or miner 69 it's basically built in already.  I'd argue it takes fewer skill points than before, because if I wasn't doing a str build I still had to level up T rex.

    But you can craft without ever finding one book,  I think what you mean is you can't craft top quality items by mining rocks all day and spending skill points.  Maybe that's why they are called skill points instead of recipe points?

    Kind of cheap I know ,  but I've played over 3000 hours so I don't like sitting there all night doing nothing.

     

    I'll only do that  for the first day or so.  Once  I have armor and weapons I'll with prep stuff for next day or go scouting.  I also usually set up a mining base and mine at night.

     

    Press F1, type DM and enter, Press F1 again, press escape and slide time to 4 am, hit the exit button.  It's a lot easier than logging off and on twice.  You can turn debug off again when your done if you want by repeating the first 3 steps.

  9. Playing Co-op with the wife and so far Great Job Fun Pimps!!!  

     

    Performance is considerably better on my rig and it's 5 years old.

    New art and POIs are great

    Dismemberment is fantastic and funny as hell

    *&%$*ing zombies eating my kills is fabulous. lol

    We're on day 4 and I've crafted more tools and weapons than most entire playthroughs already....NICE  We will actually craft our bikes instead of taking the trader reward bike.  That hasn't happened in my playthroughs in a hot minute.

    Food and water have been a challenge so far. We were excited to be able to make corn bread.  When was the last time that happened? .... Never.   By night fall we are both hungry and thirsty.  Getting the water filter was easy enough then we realized we hadn't been keeping plastic....Oops 

    No cans or jars cluttering up my inventory is great.  I hated scrapping a can every time I ate.

    OMG DOORS!!!! Makes the world so much more realistic!

    A21 was worth the wait for the hatches with the arrows alone! lol

    New work stations are awesome.

    Houses with names instead of Oldhouse546125464.  I mean, c'mon who can't love that?

    Magazines have been fun in my opinion, not sure why there's been some hate on them.  I'm enjoying spending my skill points on things other than recipes to be honest.

     

    Just my opinions on day 4, Good job to all that brought us this build!

First time playing this mod and of course I've got questions lol.  Found the forge ahead book, place it in hot bar, use it and it doesn't unlock the forge.  What am I missing?  I've tried reading it everyway I know how but I'm lost at this point.  It seems any schematic that says it must be read from the hot bar doesn't work, just disappears. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

     

    Think I figured it out....need character levels it seems.  Thought it was just going poof.

Two testers started having random crashes and they have reports of others crashing. I disabled it today, which will be in next exp.     Thanks faatal for the feedback.  Hope its soon because 20.1 is pretty much unplayable for me currently.  Guess I could roll back to stable but I liked the changes in 20.1.  Other than this one obviously lol.

    I did look at the report.  All I can tell you is there were tons of origin reposition lines in the report.  I've no clue what that means.

  14. Seems like certain sounds trigger it. Like starting a quest or closing a door.  I think 3 times it's happened immediately after clicking on the quest start marker.

     

    Here's the output log.  Yes I'm using mods but had no issues before 20.1 so I don't expect any official support, I was just hoping one of you savvy programmer type players might be able to see the issue.

Been getting this since 20.1  Can anyone tell me what is causing it?   Crashes me to desktop every time.  Sometimes I can play 2 hours then it will happen every 5 or 10 min.  Other times will start after 15 min play time.  There's also some sort of audio input error that shows up in my task bar, but I didn't get a screenshot.  When I log back in I'm about 45 seconds behind where I crashed.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.
