No, this method dont work, i have smith hammer and machete blade with leather in inventory, but cant craft machete, it says "you dont have the required recipe".

I dont like the idea of big bigpack (that one from games4kickz video) but i believe that 3-5 more slots locked via skills or books will be good enough and wont destroy the purposes of donkey/survivors/etc.
