  1. Thanks sphereii I will try your suggestions. I really appreciate mod launchers especially yours. It can be an arduous task for some of us to get mods loaded manually. So thanks again for your contribution to 7DTD.

  2. Help needed. I used the launcher (advanced feature) I did make sure to sync the mod. As the game loads I get nonstop missing method exception errors, also messages saying items failed to load, and then I cannot get passed creating player. When the game loads it says it is 16.2 B7 I have EAC disabled. What else should I do?

  3. ***LATE GAME CHALLENGE***

7DTD is my favorite game. I play True Survival SDX, War of the Walkers, and Starvation mods in rotation. Probably the most common complaint on the boards is that there is no challenge late game. Mods like True Survival SDX stretch the game with slower progression which does help some with that issue. Ultimately the only way to make late game challenging is to bring in a variable that can cause a player to “lose it all”.

Three obvious means to that end would be: late game zombies that can better destroy bases and tunnel into our underground bases. Another option is to have radiation zones spread, military bombings, or some other ecological disaster. A disaster that eliminates food sources by rapidly or slowly kills off plants, animals, and perhaps the player as well if they don’t move away from it. An enduring drought perhaps or parasite that kills plants and trees. Forcing the player to move on and rebuild somewhere else on the map.

The best option I feel is to have dynamic communities of NPC’s that form, grow, and fight for territory/ resources throughout the game. Enemy NPC’s that build bases in real time, send out looters, compete for our resources, and attack our bases. The greater your acquired wealth and resources the greater the target on your back. NPC’s spawn into the game with morality ratings that direct how they behave and what factions they will join. Sleeper zombies in POIs is cool, inhabited POIs with defending NPC’s even better. Not just bandit strongholds but regular people as well. Having to make moral choices about whether to steal, kill, or help others would give the game serious depth. Deciding to form your own faction, join an existing faction, fight them, or run from them also adds real depth and dynamic gameplay. We need to see NPCs turn into zombies. The Walking Dead show keeps rolling because human threats and power struggles keep the zombie issue a real danger by weakening strongholds acquired by the main characters. I lack the knowledge/talent to mod, but I realize these features would be challenging to put in the game. I do think most players would agree that the future of zombie survival games will evolve to include all the RPG elements I am suggesting, some already do.

  4. Hey dwallorde thanks for the great update of your mod. Of all the mods I've tried yours seems to run the smoothest for me. Love the prefabs, NPC's, armor diversity, UI, etc. Between you, Spider, and spherii I can't move on from 7DTD. Will you eventually enable followers? I do appreciate seeing the other survivors in game even if we cannot recruit them. Keep up the great work it is very much appreciated.

  5. Hey Spider I can't wait to play your upcoming version of TS you really are a creative genius! Thanks for all your efforts which apparently you put in when not working your day job. You should never feel the need to justify anything you do with your mod. You are a humble guy who makes mods so good that Alpha 16 won't top them. You take a lot of player input into consideration and give credit to all who make your mods better. After an alpha 15.2 TS game crash I switched over to WOTWO for awhile. My first game on day 1 I had killed 40 zombies, built a solid fort, and had plenty of food stocked up. Apparently your TS turned me into a dominant player! WOTWO is a great mod but I prefer the thrill of knowing I could die any second in your mod. I also prefer your style of slower progression. Keep up the good work!

  6. Hi sphereii. Your mod launcher is awesome. I have been playing Spider's mod for sometime. Something happened and his mod wouldn't run for me anymore maybe due to the 15.2 update. My son applied that mod for me weeks ago. I couldn't reinstall it correctly if I tried. I was thrilled to see that you had True Survival plus other goodies on the launcher. If not for guys like you, Spider, and other modders I would have moved on from 7DTD a long time ago. I can't imagine that all the mods are compatible with each other. How can I determine which mods can be loaded together? Can I add Bad Company to True Survival or War of the Walkers? Thanks for sharing your talents.

  7. Hi Spider was playing last night when suddenly I could not swap out engine or gun parts. Loaded the game today and got several error messages. Screen says loading but nothing happens. Is this because 15.2 came out. Do I need to reload your mod or can I go back to 15.1 and keep playing my saved game?

  8. Can anyone recommend any mods that work well with JZMOD? I don't want to add any that would mess it up.

Also thanks for the responses to my previous question.

  9. Hi Spider. My son loaded your mod onto our desktop pc. After the world is created and the game starts there are only red question marks in all of the UI displays on screen. Do you know how we can fix this? This computer uses windows 10. Also are your mod updates only released with 7DTD alpha updates requiring a new download at that time? Thanks for all your work still love the mod.

  10. Hey Spider or anyone who knows, can we do a power swing using a controller or is that only applicable with a mouse? Does this mod add any controller functions not found on the original game?

  11. Hello Spider. Regarding followers I am really hoping that eventually we will be able to give them weapons to use. State of Decay really is a good model for NPCs. If you took an NPC on a mission they would mirror your combat approach. They would only use melee weapons until you pulled out your gun and started shooting they would then also pull out a gun. NPCs would man guard towers and only shoot Zs who got too close. Cool it was to be running toward my base with zombies chasing me, seeing Zs getting shot around me by my tower guard. I prefer 7DTD over SOD but that game did a lot of things worth stealing.

Thanks to Spider and everyone who answers my noob questions on this board I appreciate it.

  12. Like I wrote to the Fun Pimps, the game see-saws alot regarding difficulty based on player input. Things like Z speed could be a modded choice in game. I hope players don't convince Spider to turn his ultra creative mod back into the vanilla game.

  13. Spider. I went to 200% block strength primarily because in the vanilla game Zs were destroying my forts so easily that I spent more time on rebuilding than I liked which ate up scavenging and looting time even with 120 min days. It also made it more challenging to mine resources and break into safes. Tools leveled too fast. Being new to your mod I may adjust my settings. Definitely like how hard your mod is. Like the pace and leveling depth. Not a player who likes to restart every 80 days in becuz I've maxed out my skills. Late game 200% block strength does become a negative cuz Zs can't get in my Fort. That is why I hope for intelligent NPCs to attack me leaving me vulnerable to new Z attacks.

  14. Hi Spider thanks for responding to my questions. Loving the mod! Have no clue what SDX is but it seems like graphics in your mod are better compared to 15.1. Re-installed icons are there. My settings include very high Z spawning, 60 sec Z awareness, 120 min days, 100 % loot, 200% block strength. This is what I meant asking does your mod override my personal preferences. Thanks for making the game fun again. Bought 4 more copies to play with my sons. Sorry if I ask noob questions I'm clueless about the modding and program side of gaming.

  15. Hello Spider!! After 700+ hours on 7DTD up to 15.1 I was ready to move on. I saw your mod and decided to give it a try. Your creativity is impressive. I like that you added followers and that the pace of the game is slow. Have you played State of Decay? SOD 2 looks to be awesome. They handle the managing of recruiting survivors and giving them tasks very well. In my opinion the best zombie survival games will include management of groups and have NPC adversaries. NPC's to feed, equip, lead, protect is a must. Infected NPC's need to turn into zombies. Survivor games need a society element and moral choices in them. Warring factions will good AI taking over land, destroying your base, killing your people is vital to keeping late game fun. I know the game is about zombies but only NPC's destroying your base makes zombies a threat late game. I'm not anti MP. In my experience players tend to band together rather than fight which only makes the game easier. Couple of questions for you: Is your mod good with alpha 15.1?, do your mod settings override my personal preferences?, what other mods or tools work with yours that you endorse?, I'm missing a lot of icons how can I fix that? Keep up the good work TFP should hire you as a subcontractor. Take care.
