  1. I started writing this to actually ask for help with this problem. But while I was gathering information for whomever might read this in order to help you help me, I stumbled on the answer. My public IP address changed. There was nothing wrong with the world, it wasn't getting stuck loading. It completed loading successfully, yet I couldn't see the server in the list, and couldn't connect to it via the stored IP already remembered by the game. I was going to delete this entire comment, then I remembered that when I searched for an answer to my problem, I couldn't find one. So I'm going to post anyway, to help people out who experience the same thing and feel lost. Even though, I'm a seasoned IT professional, I'm still rather new to server management, so I don't immediately know where to look when I have an issue. Admittedly, going over the events in my head and the information the game was giving me during my struggle, I am a little embarrassed that it took me longer than 24 hours to figure this out. Here's my original description of the problem: My Windows 10 based dedicated 7dtd server has been fine for quite some time, yet yesterday morning I couldn't log in to the stored IP address and I couldn't find it in the server list (it's usually right at the top). So I RDP'd to my server, saw a bunch of errors that I should have snipped to show you guys, but neglected to before I shut it down. Now when I boot the server up it gets stuck at "INF Dymesh door replacement: imposterBlock". It just sits there for hours. I removed all mods, and it gets passed that but immediately gets stuck two lines later at "INF [DECO] write thread 5ms". I verified the game files 1 file was missing or corrupted and was re-aquired and it still gets stuck at the DECO entry above. I've done a reinstallation as well.
  2. Thank you so much for the advice. I recreated the file line by line from the last known good log (April 23rd); and I brought the server back up. When I logged in, I was in my old server, inside my base, precisely where I logged off, all of my gear was there, all of my skills were still learned, and party members/allies were listed. I have not only saved a copy of the config file in a safe place, but I've added a second SSD to my server box, and turned on Volume Shadow Copy. I will not be in this predicament a second time.
  3. Thanks, I'll see if I can recover it. Another thought that just occurred to me, is that I have a System Restore point to April 21st. I might try reverting the entire system back that far if the output log doesn't bear fruit. It's well known that SR won't change user data files (word/excel/etc), but it does affect system files, files in Program Files, files in Appdata. It might get me back to where I want to be, so that I can get my server back with the push of 1 button, and then I can either keep the game on Alpha 20.3, or I'll at least get the opportuntiy to back up my serverconfig.xml before I update to the newest patch.
  4. This game's entire life cycle will remain in alpha. So it's not acceptable for people to shrug and tell you that, much less the developers. The game is 9 years old. If it's still in alpha after all this time, it will never leave alpha. And being in alpha is no excuse for haphazardly wiping out people's entire servers with no means of getting them back and no accountability of ruining it in the first place.
  5. So it seems reasonable to you to condescend to someone trying to help you? The company you bought your computer from likely does operate in the US, as most of the common brands do, so the ruling might apply to you even though you don't live in the US, as it would have changed their entire warranty policy. Maybe you should find out before you admit defeat.
  6. Didn't the Supreme Court smack that down a few years ago? I'm relatively certain that they have to honor the warranty regardless of whether or not you open the computer. And I'm pretty sure swapping a hard drive falls under that. There is nothing proprietary regarding 1 SSD or another, and swapping a hard drive is not considered dangerous to the system by any stretch of the imagination.
  7. To your knowledge, is there any way to recover my world? I've noticed the name of my server and the seed name are still located in appdata\Roaming\7daystodie\saves
  8. You wiped my server config file back to defaults. I've lost everything.
