  • Vehicle horn sounds does not increase stealth meter

    Summary: I am unable to attract a zombie's attention by honking the vehicle horn


    Game Version: A21 b317
    OS/Version: Windows 11
    CPU Model: Intel Core i5-12500 3 GHz 6-Core Processor
    System Memory: 32GB
    GPU Model and VRAM: Radeon RX 6700 XT 12 GB
    Screen Resolution: 1920x1080

    Game mode: SP


    Did you wipe old saves? Wiped 6/12 on A21 b313
    Did you start a new game? Wiped 6/12 on A21 b313
    Did you validate your files? Validated files 6/12 on A21 b313
    Are you using any mods? No
    EAC on or off? On


    Status: NEW


    Bug Description:


    Detailed steps to reproduce the bug:
    1) Place a vehicle down near a Zombie
    2) Crouch down
    3) Hold E on vehicle and select Horn option


    Actual result: Stealth meter does not increase and zombie ignores the user. I notice if I start punching the vehicle instead the stealth bar goes up and the zombie starts targeting me

    Expected result: Horn sound should increase stealth meter/get a zombie's attention

    The part of it not affecting the player's stealth isn't a bug, the stealth meter is a blend of noise the player is making and the current visibility (light value), but I'll make an improvement ticket for the horn attracting zombies. No promises though, since there are quite a few factors to consider, such as trolling or balance in cases like a player blaring the horn riding in a circle to get the attention of a bunch of zombies and the stealth away, but it's something worth discussing. 

     

    Moving to Not a Bug since it's really not a bug, but I will do a ticket for that ^^
