    Bug Description:

Detailed steps to reproduce the bug:

I'm not able to get this to happen reliably, sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn't, but general steps I did was this:

    1) Give yourself a lv1 stone axe via creative menu
    2) Make sure inventory does not have any wood/fiber/stone (Assumes the character can only make lv 1 stone axe)

    3) Press Tab to open crafting menu (Make sure search bar is empty, and that the axe is not selected by default yet)

    4) Search or click on the stone axe to see the ingredients needed

    5) Gather the necessary materials (without tracking recipe and without opening the crafting menu until you have everything), do this by harvesting with your existing lv 1 stone axe

    6) Open crafting menu again

Actual result: It shows the axe but crafting menu is greyed out, despite having all the necessary ingredients

When it's greyed out, the "workaround" is to close crafting menu and open it again, then it should be clickable, OR you click on a different item and then click on the axe again

video example 1, via searching for stone axe by keyword: https://imgur.com/a/iNNgYnj

video example 2, via clicking on stone axe from the list without keyword search: https://imgur.com/a/1WvOZrL

It's not restricted to the stone axe though, as I had this issue originally with a stone sledgehammer.

Expected result: Craft button should not be greyed out if the user has all the necessary ingredients in the correct amounts

I've seen this before but it is hard to reproduce at will as you said. I'll take a heavy look into this though and narrow it down. Thanks for the details.

@Jugginator I think I found out a better way to reproduce this. It seems whenever I open the crafting menu while my axe is still in mid-swing animation, the craft button is disabled. I am able to reproduce it reliably this way

    1. Have all the items necessary to craft a stone axe
    2. Left click to swing stone axe
    3. While the axe is still in swing animation, quickly hit tab to open inventory

Hah! Perfect thank you, that saved a bit of time. I had a feeling it was a timing thing, nice work.
