  • Mattresses give no springs but their bed frames do

    NekoPawtato

Summary: I'm not sure if this is intentional or just oversight. Wrenching mattresses give no springs, but wrenching the metal frame itself does. Seems backwards to me? (usually the springs are inside the mattress 😀)

    Bug Description:

Detailed steps to reproduce the bug:

    1) Place down the different types of mattress/bunk beds (messy bunk bed, made bunk bed, bunk bed with no blanket, bunk bed frame, flat mattress no frame, bent mattress no frame)

    2) Use an impact driver to downgrade all the framed bunk beds with mattresses to just their frame, observe no springs are given

    3) Use an impact driver to harvest the frame-less mattress (flat/bent mattress), observe no springs are given

    4) Wrench all the bed frames, observe all of them give springs

Actual result: The frames themselves gives springs, but mattress only gives cloth

Expected result: Mattress should give springs instead of the frame

(I tried to google "bed frames" and most of them I see don't have springs. I even tried searching "bed frames with springs" and found only like two of the results having visible springs)

I guess one could argue the beds are springless mattresses, which is a thing (like memory foam mattress or air mattress). But typically more common/cheaper beds will use springs from what I understand

from my experience in the military way back in the day :)

the bunks were metal with spring bands under a cotton/hard foam mattress.

so i will have to go with... this is not an oversight as the mattresses and bunks do favor military styling. only ours did not have ladders nor rails.
