  • Cannot pause zombie AI while in Debug Mode

    Summary: Cannot pause zombie AI. Zombie will continue wandering around.

     

    Game Version: Alpha 20.2 b2

    Platform: PC

    OS/Version: Windows 10

    CPU Model: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6300HQ CPU @ 2.30GHz

    System Memory: 8GB

    GPU Model and VRAM: AMD Radeon R9 M275X (4075MB?)

    Screen Resolution: 1280x720

    Video Settings: Potato (Low)

    Game mode: SP

     

    Did you wipe old saves? Not since A20.0

    Did you start a new game? Yes

    Did you validate your files? Yes

    Are you using any mods? No

    EAC on or off? Off

     

    Status: NEW

     

    Bug Description:

     

    Detailed steps to reproduce the bug:

    First off, I am assuming that "Invisible Mode" is the same as "Toggle Zombie AI", please correct me if I'm wrong. If they are different actions and just happen to be mapped to the same key (num pad *), then I think the underlying bug is that I cannot change keybind for "Toggle Zombie AI"

     

    1) Go into settings > controls > misc

    2) Change keybinding for Invisible Mode to ] key (because laptop does not have num pad nor num lock support...)

    3) Go back to main menu and click New Game

    4) Set map to Navezgane, with cheat mode ON, everything else can be default

    5) When loaded in, hit F1

    6) Type in 'dm' and hit enter

    7) Press F6 and spawn a zombie in (ex: Arlene)

    8 ) Let zombie see you and then press ] to turn on invisible mode

     

    Actual result: Zombie continues walking towards you (they do not attack though, which means the player is truely "invisible" to the zombie)

    Expected result: Zombie to freeze/stop dead in their tracks, as shown in the below video tutorials (older alphas)

    @NekoPawtato Thanks for the report. The two functions you are describing are different. Invisible mode prevents zombies from being able to see the player, while Numpad * prevents their AI tasks from running.

    Turning DM on and using Numpad * to disable AI is currently working correctly in the latest public and testing builds.

    Follow up question though, is it considered a bug then that there is no way to re bind the toggle AI? Should I make a separate bug report about that then? @TSBX
