  • Cannot get loot from safes using timed charges if player block dmg setting too high

    NekoPawtato

Summary: Using timed charges on weak locked safes in POIs (ex: wall safe) on a server where player block dmg is too high (ex: 200%) will result in the safe being destroyed and no loot dropping

    Game Version: A20.5

    Platform: Steam

    OS/Version: Windows 11

CPU Model: Intel Core i5-12500 3 GHz 6-Core Processor

    System Memory: 32GB

GPU Model and VRAM: Radeon RX 6700 XT 12 GB

    Screen Resolution: 1920x1080

    Video Settings: Fancy Potato (Ultra)

    Game mode: SP

Did you wipe old saves? Not since A20.4 (new pc)

Did you start a new game? Created on 5/20 on A20.5

Did you validate your files? Verified 5/21 on A20.5

Are you using any mods? No

    EAC on or off? On

    Status: NEW

    Bug Description:

Detailed steps to reproduce the bug:

    1) Increase player block dmg in server settings (ex: 200%)

    2) Go to a POI with a locked safe (ex: bank_02)

    3) Locate the locked safe (ex: wall safe -- I didn't try a desk safe but I'm assuming same issue applies)

    4) Place timed charge on safe

Actual result: Safe will either just disappear (from doing so much dmg to it) or "collapse" into construction bars. Either case, no bookbag loot is dropped, making timed charges useless.

Expected result: Safes should drop their loot as a bag. I do want to note though, if you manually place a safe down, put items inside the safe, then blow it up with timed charges, it DOES drop a bookbag. This issue only happened for me when I used timed charges on POI safes.

This is known,  and there is ticket for it already,  but it's set to low priority.  It may get fixed someday,  but the ticket was written back in A18,  so probably not anytime soon.
