  • Locked wall/desk safes downgrading to insecure version has smaller inventory space potentially leading to loss of items

    NekoPawtato

Summary: I'm back! New PC, new alpha, figured I would revisit an issue with wall/desk safe inventory size. Basically if you place a locked wall or desk safe and fill it up, and then later someone breaks it open, the insecure version has a smaller inventory, leading to potentially losing what was stored in it.

For reference this was the old thread:

    Game Version: A20.5

    Platform: Steam

    OS/Version: Windows 11

CPU Model: Intel Core i5-12500 3 GHz 6-Core Processor

    System Memory: 32GB

GPU Model and VRAM: Radeon RX 6700 XT 12 GB

    Screen Resolution: 1920x1080

    Video Settings: Fancy Potato (Ultra)

    Game mode: SP

Did you wipe old saves? Not since A20.4 (new pc)

Did you start a new game? Game created on 5/20 for A20.5

Did you validate your files? No (New PC, installed A20.4)

Are you using any mods? No

    EAC on or off? On

    Status: NEW

    Bug Description:

Detailed steps to reproduce the bug:

    1) Craft and place a wall or desk safe (or grab one from creative)

    2) Open it up and fill an entire column (top to bottom) with items -- note that it should take 9 items

    3) Break open the safe to it's insecure form (ex: use dev tool or timed charges)  -- note that there are now only 5 items

Actual result: You lose 4 items. This could potentially be problematic in multiplayer games (mainly competitive or PVP type servers)

Expected result: Keep all 9 items

Actually,  I tested on a later version of the game,  and this has already been fixed,  so there was no need for a ticket.

    Thank you for reporting.

I was wondering what happened to you.

Congratulations on your fancy potato pc.

Yeah combination of old laptop dying + new season in another game that I played so I wasn't around for a while.

Built my first desktop with the help of some friends and finally finished the seasonal stuff for the other game so now back to this game 😆 stuff looks so realistic now going from lowest to ultra is like a totally different game
