  • Animation issue while using a consumable results in no effects applied

    NekoPawtato

Summary: Animation issue when switching through toolbar can cause consumables to be used up but no effects applied (essentially as if the item was deleted)

    Game Version: A20.6

    Platform: Steam

    OS/Version: Windows 11

CPU Model: Intel Core i5-12500 3 GHz 6-Core Processor

    System Memory: 32GB

GPU Model and VRAM: Radeon RX 6700 XT 12 GB

    Screen Resolution: 1920x1080

    Video Settings: Fancy Potato (Ultra)

    Game mode: SP

Did you wipe old saves? Not since A20.4

Did you start a new game? Created on 3/16 on A20.6

Did you validate your files? Last verified 8/22/22 on A20.6

Are you using any mods? No

    EAC on or off? On

    Status: NEW

    Bug Description:

Detailed steps to reproduce the bug:

    1) Fill your toolbar with weapons/tools

    2) Using mouse wheel, scroll up or down to go to your next toolbar item, then quickly hit tab (before your character has a chance to switch items)

Note: I was not able to reproduce the issue if I used hotkey (0-9) since it switches immediately, so perhaps the bug is related to the delay in switching toolbar using the mouse wheel?

    3) Find an item and click "Use", then quickly close your inventory, before the character can start the "Use" animation

    Actual result:

Item gets used up but no effect applied (i.e. I did not heal, nor was I able to gain any food)

    Expected result:

My consumables should have applied their effects

    Thank you for reporting.

I was not able to reproduce this in A21.  I believe this was fixed when a fix for a different issue concerning animations for consumables was fixed.
