    Summary: Game crashed every 30-60 mins a few times, then the other player had their character wiped when rejoining

    CPU Model: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 6-core processor

    Game mode: MP host, client

    Bug Description:

     

     

    Game was crashing every 30-60 mins, but turning down the graphics settings seemed to prolong it. We played for a while, me and my wife, and are now I think 50 hours in. I started playing again and she joined through Steam, but her character was wiped back to level 1 from I think level 27 or so. I tried bringing her player back using the .bak file in the game data, but it was still level 1. The crashing was bad enough, but player wiping makes 7 days unplayable :(

     

    I also tried playing a new game solo, and the game was still crashing every 30-60 mins.

     

    I updated all my drivers and my bios, and replaced my old power supply in my PC as well as validating all 7-days files and doing a fresh install when trying to fix this.

     

    I also noted that GPU ram usage appears to fill a good bit of the way up on game start, then creep up over time. When it gets near full (maybe around 85-90%), the game usually crashes, although this could be coincidental.

     

    Detailed steps to reproduce the bug:

    1) Start new game, have steam friend join. Game crashes every 30-60 mins.

    2) After maybe 10 crashes, joined player level and mission, inv etc. is wiped.

    3) Start a solo game, game still crashes every 30-60 mins.

     

    Actual result: Loss of time, appreciation for game, player progress

     

    Expected result: Good gameplay, low frustration

    Game for 10 years.. still has not optimized anything. My poor RTX 3080 12GB + Ryzen 5950X gives me 50fps overall... blood moons and Tier 6 POIs = 10FPS

    This game also uses 17GB of Ram no matter what..

    Cannot confirm about level wipes since I play on a dedicated server thats hosted on a Linux system.

    Not too sure what's going on here for you, it's definitely a gpu driver issue... maybe try rolling back a few months back, using DDU to uninstall the old one? We've definitely had a little increase of reports with these recently. Worth a shot. 

     

    @VanillaChanny while we appreciate feedback that has nothing to do with this report. I have a ryzen 5800x and a 3060 12gb and im running at 90-100 fps on 1440p, 50-60 in tier 5 pois. Optimizations are always being worked on, so if you'd like open a post here or in General Support and we can see if we can help you with performance issues, likely it's in some settings or maybe a mod.
