Onyxdragun
I have a dedicated windows server for 7D2D and I noticed that when it starts it only listens on 0.0.0.0. Since the windows machine has dual NICs it tends to favour one interface over the externally accessible one. For now when I start the 7D2D server I have to ensure the one interface is disabled so that it doesnt expect connections to be made from it. Does the dedicated server have the option for binding the server to a particular interface or IP like other Steam game servers make use of? If not, anyone know if there are plans to having this added to the dedicated server? I'd love to be able to bind it to the 192.168.10.x as opposed to the 10.1.10.x it likes to listen on. Alloc
It's a matter of the networking frameworks in use and nothing we can really change. That said I'd assume it uses the interface metrics, so if you set a lower value to the interface you need it to use it should probably work. Onyxdragun
Oh.. good point about the metric. I've ensured the metric of the interfaces reflect what I want now. I'll test it later and see if it behaves properly. Thanks!
