A Possible Solution to the AI Issues

I'm not a programmer. No idea how it works, not even going to pretend to.

TL/DR at bottom.

 

So it seems like theres a bit of a divide here, pop culture, fiction and movies have all given us different ideas of what the Zed Apoc could look like. Walking Dead, WWZ and all of the others give us a world we can imagine trying to survive in. Problem, they are all different worlds and one AI isn't going to accomodate very well. (I dont think)

 

That being said, What about adding a menu to the game start screen with zombie options. Just like adding the movement speed only put it all on there.

Damage Buff On/Off

Digging On/Off

Run Speed - Select

Group Damage Buff On/Off

Zombies in World .5 Normal 2x 3x etc. (Select based on preference and what your pc can handle.)

Zombies jump On/Off

Screamers On/Off

Zombies Fly On/Off...

 

 

You get the idea.

 

It would let us determine the kind of world we want and our computers can handle playing in. Any new AI options like heat, smell effect that TFP comes up with in the future can be added as automatically "ON" in the settings at the start of the game and people have the option to switch it off if they dont like it. The fans of it can rave about how cool it is and the rest can switch it off without any fuss. Zombie AI improvements would then be a feature that could be advertised instead of something that we have to fight about.

Amount of each Biome we want, on sliders

Amount of towns

Size of towns

Density of towns

Amount of Traders

etc

etc

etc

 

All chosen based on preference and what your PC can handle.

 

Yes, there are people who will get rid of the wasteland or desert or snow or whatever they dont like but thats the point. Thats how they want to play the game. Navezgame at full zombie defaults in the game TFP has created, fashioned and is as intended. Then you give the option to change it to your liking. Its the very best of both worlds.

Just an idea. But it might be a good middle ground to start from.

Once again, Not a programmer. Dont even know if its possible.

 

TL/DR Give us a menu with all the new and coming options (digging, group damage, etc.) and be able to turn them on and off at will. Give us a menu in RWG that lets us define the kind of world we want to play in (Amount of each biome, density of cities, size, etc.)
