  1. Edit:

By the way, has anyone found a legit way to get 50 at gunsmithing skill to unlock casings and tips? I don't really want to waste thousands of gunpowder on blunderbuss ammo. Is there anything else you can craft to raise that skill?

Repair every gun part you find. That worked for me

  2. I'm pretty sure I just knocked down a pine tree and received a pair of sneakers from it, Easter egg or bug? Either way I got a chuckle.

I believe its intentional. Sometimes trees drop honey, paper kites, garbage bags....

    Edit - Didn't see RomRom's post. Sorry

  3. That's great, Lope. It was definitely more fun on server than SP. Which is what I came from, ironically.

Someone else has asked too, so four isn't a bad start. I'm interested in the changes/fixes before getting one set up though. I've already edited the RWGmixer to make it more "friendly" shall we say. Let hills and bigger towns essentially.

    Lets keep it going.

    One more here - Sizemoe

  4. question about tool molds. Do I need the object to make a mold of it? i.e. do I have to have a pickaxe in my inventory to make a pickaxemold? The recipe says it requires brickhammer and lumps of clay and there's a fire icon next to it. Is that campfire? forge? I can't get it to work with either if all I have are lumps of clay and the brickhammer. confused...

yes you need clay and the tool e.g. brick hammer. You make it over a campfire with a metal grill

  5. Can anyone point me in a direction to find carrots in this mod? Need to pick 100 of them to make seed for the quest. Please and thanks

In one of the green biomes, look for clay deposits that have yellow flowers, cotton etc... then look closely for small unatural green colour 'tufts' poking out of the ground. They are carrots. Easy to spot during a storm as their shading is different to the other plants

  6. Scraping food into serving doesn't yield consistent result.

    e.g 100 stack cereal = 75 grain servings yet 1 cereal by itself = 1 serving

    50 fruits = 37 fruit servings yet 1 fruit = 1 fruit serving

100 oatmeal = 99 grain servings. always get one less, 5 stack yield 4, 10 stack yield 9

5 brain matters = 1 protein servings but 10 brain matter also = 1 protein serving

3 eggs = 1 protein serving but if scraping 6 egg, only 5 eggs are consumed and also yield 1 protein serving

Correct me if I am wrong but I believe it is intentional. Scrapping by hand means some loss in output, but when using a prep table you can maximize scrapping efficiency.

  7. Same here. I followed the install steps for the mod launcher but when i start a Sp game I dont get the starting class selection and load outs and the hud looks to be vanilla ( the mod in the bottom left hand corner showing health etc hasnt loaded ). The quests are also missing but the skills menu is TS not vanilla.

But this is how i fixed it. After you run uninstall 7DTD go to your steam 7DTD folder and either delete it or rename it. Then if you have ever played TS Mod before go to the C:7DTD folder and delete or rename the True Survival folder. Then reinstall 7DTD, roll it back to 16.2 open the mod launcher and reinstall TS - this should take a while to complete. Voila playable TS.

Thanks Jolly that worked. Dunno how since I have reinstalled the vanilla game and TS a number of times a few weeks ago for other reasons, but the one time I do it as you described.... murphys law

  8. I have an issue that I cant seem to find the cause. On the server I connect and can play no problem. But if I try SP, I get a strange hybrid of True Survival and Vanilla. I use the mod launcher so I don't think I need to download extra files right?. Also with the mod launcher I direct the game to another location and not the 7 days folder. Can anyone suggest what may be going wrong?

  9. I found that building a workbench uses nails, glue, planks and components, but if you dismantle it with a screwdriver you harvest forged iron among other things.

I also noticed to build minibike components such as seat and handlebars, there are two recipes for each. One seems to be a copy of the other with a few extra ingredients. Not sure if this is a double up or if different recipes apply for different workstations? I haven’t tested it yet and I won’t be able to until later.

Bandits seem to sneak up on me without much sound, more so than Z’s. If that’s intentional, then you certainly have me looking over my shoulder at all times now!

Fun tip: Welder tool makes a great grass harvester. Just point and collect!

  10. Spider,

An awesome effort and can fully appreciate you wanting a break. Just wanted to thank you for your commitment to the mod. IT has been 100's of hours of fun and still going.

  11. @Spider - Feral rabbit cannot be harvested. It just gets beaten into nothing.

@spider - I currently have my base as a pass and gas. I have my bedroll and keystone block right in the middle of it. It is not overly large but sleepers are still spawning in every few minutes, I will kill one and then another will spawn shortly after.

I found that even with the bedroll down, unless you clear the poi entirely in one go, they will keep respawning whenever you leave and return. Maybe you are missing one hidden somewhere that resets the spawining

  12. Welder tool seems to be able to dismantle anything. Even so, it seems to degrade blocks one point at a time but very quickly like a machine gun. It still takes time to get through one steel block.

POtential exploit with food. You can cook good food and eat until you are full. But if your thirst is low and the food has a hydration value, you can place food in your tool belt and activate it from there. You will keep eating food until your are no longer thirsty... but get all the wellness perks while doing so.

  13. down for me too.

Meanwhile more bugs I have found:

Corrugated metal sheet disappears in forge and doesn't register in iron count. Same for metal rubbish bins

1 Protein serving in prep table creates 5 protein points. Then you extract 1 protein serving and do it again. etc..

  14. As for feedback then, I like that there is such a wide variety of items to gather it keeps encouraging us out to scavenge. Even when we are high(er) level and are swimming in crops and high wellness, we still struggle to have a complete or good quality gun. I am yet to find a hunting knife. Keeping that element of constantly needing to venture further and further to find 'that one piece' you need , having to improvise with what you have in the meantime, and having to make sacrifices with what to carry in your pack keeps the game interesting and variable. Its a good balance.

  15. A few more bugs found:

When I reach the carrot stage in the farming quest there is no recipe to craft carrots into carrot seeds

I found an animal gore block that can be opened. Inside I found 20 wood frames

Parts of an engine scrap into iron. If you scrap the whole engine it scraps to steel.

    Update:

And there are a lot of For Dummies Books found in pill cases. Went through a PopnPills and collected about 40 of them

  16. anyhow, after this update, i noticed new items in the craft window called for "barterfor......"

is this the solution to regain the lost quest items? what workstation needed to craft it tho?

Another idea could be use the research desk. 100 seeds and a skillbook gives you the needed skill. "Gathering' all those seeds will be difficult to exploit, and allows other players to help if needed.

  17. Teleporting blocks

    Hi Spider,

Im finding that when I dig down approx 3 blocks, I hit blocks that teleport me just above where I already am. If not careful you get caught in a loop of teleporting and landing on the same block. Did a few test holes and get same issue. Dirt blocks was what I was digging
