  1. Can anyone recommend me a good seed for 3.1? :p thanks :smile-new:

    - - - Updated - - -

A friend and I just started playing with this mod and I have a few questions if anyone knows, I couldn't find an answer in the post.

How do I craft the barbed club? When trying to craft it doesn't say if I need a specific station.

And does difficulty affect XP gains?

unless you chose the BLUNT weapons class, you wont be able to craft the barbed club or repair clubs until you unlock that class in the future. You start out with class specific items and as you scrap schematics and get blue prints youll be able to unlock other classes in the future to obtain their specific items. You need a specific workstation to do so and a pen and ink i believe?

  2. 2) Cheese-it's give you more fullness (+6) and better stam (I believe) than boiled meat (+4). Protein is ALWAYS more filling than carbs. just the way it is.

cheese is considered a fat/protein with very little carbs.

"The longer a cheese is aged, the lower its carbohydrate content will be. ... Blue cheese and cheddar cheese have around 0.4 grams of carbs per ounce, and Parmesan cheese has about 0.9 grams in the same serving size. Foods containing less than 1 gram of carbohydrates per serving are considered to be very low in carbs."

"Different cheeses have different amounts of fat and protein in them.

100g of cheddar has 26g protein and 36g fat

100g of feta has 16g protein and 20g fat and 2g carbs"

Just wanted to correct that assumption.

  3. I think vanilla conditioned us to kind of be spoiled with leveling and obtaining very high leveled tools/weapons in early game (even if they are gated behind "perks.") With Ravenhearst or any mod that challenges that, it feels very foreign and in a way difficult.

What I love about this mod is when I do manage to get certain tools, certain perks ect I really felt like I earned them. The risk vs. rewards also play a nice part in my enjoyment. Early game is extremely tough, but its supposed to be and should be. When I see an animal, it doesn't matter if im swarmed with zeds I will still try my hardest to obtain the meat early game because it truly feels like survival. I actually enjoy the difficulties, and no mod or game is without its flaws. I chose to look passed them and enjoy what was provided to us all, which is in fact a really kick butt mod for a kick butt game.

  4. Mmmm.

    1) Congratulations on the world revolving around you ... and every comment being about you specifically.

    2) I'm a girl, not a dude ... and I can have an opinion that differs from yours without doing so because I am performing sexual favors on, for, or with the developers ... and if I were that would be my business and theirs, not yours. Unless you're just jealous.... And what I am telling you is that the game is already ridiculously unrealistic, and spending time debating whether this skill is more realistic than that skill is insane. It's ALL unrealistic ... I'm not going to sweat it. And if choosing to do so gets you off, more power to you ... just be nice.

    3) If I choose to express gratitude to the devs and the teams working to make this mod great, that is my business. I do so because too often people complain and forget to say thank you. It's called manners. I'm sure you can probably look up the word since it is completely foreign to you.

    4) This mod right up front states that it's designed for the long haul ... some people like that, some people don't. Do I love everything about the mod? Nope. Do I love the same things about the mod that the other people with whom I play love? Nope. Do I respect the time and effort that went into making this, and stand in awe of those who can come up with all this crap? Yes, absolutely yes. I don't have to like everything about the mod to enjoy playing it. I also don't have to spend time picking it apart and being a general B**ch about it either.

I don't believe anyone is telling you not to make suggestions on how to, in your opinion, improve the mod and game play. My comments, ironically enough, weren't specifically directed at you. However, they certainly apply to you considering that you have been less than kind in your responses, enough so that a moderator had to snip your post. My point was simply that a) people should be more kind to each other and think about how what they are posting can be perceived and b) that people perhaps shouldn't be getting quite so bent out of shape about reality in a game that is, by its very nature, completely unrealistic.

    Thanks.

Your comment is very passive aggressive and also patronizing. You’re telling the person to be nice but then you go and say “you’re jealous.” About 80 percent of games are very unrealistic, with some differing from their levels, so if this mod doesn’t do it for you, why on earth on you on it’s forum? I agree, people should be nice and respect others opinions. Not every game is for everyone, but your comment came off very patronizing and completely opposite of what you said about people being more kind to each other. Lol.

  5. Final Update and Release Announcement

After a very long and exhausting weekend we are proud to announce we have exposed and fixed all of the issues with server crashes, poi issues, allocs errors for servers, sleeper issues causing to save corruptions, custom animals who could not take spike damage which caused world crashes, animals with mismatched class types as well as a host of reported bugs and issues. Our server has successfully gone past Day 53, with NO errors in our logs and no "groundhog days" or save fails. We are confident THIS is what the release version should have been. Im going to deploy the new update sometime in the next 24-48 hours to give people enough time to prepare.

Thank you and to all the people who helped (during this little bump in the road) for all your hard work. Jax, you created an incredible mod and I am absolutely smitten with it, lol. I love the challenge, the crafting, the risk vs. reward, the constant watching your back, the looting and hoarding, just everything. so again, thank you and everyone who helped create this awesome mod and for all the hard work, time and effort. Fantastic work. No matter what, I'll always stand by this mod. a wipe is not a problem at all. :o) great job guys and great work on this speedy fix!

  6. Yes, major things are locks by levels. Iron tools lvl 30, steel tools lvl 60. Advanced workbench replacess vanilla workbench (the basic workbench just duplicates your inventory crafting, to free your inventory for people who mass craft). Adv.workbench requires construction skill 30 IIRC, is it also lvl locked?

About crafting twine: Jax made it loot-only to force people to go out and scavenge. So it is not going to be craftable. Best places to find twine are kitchen counters. In vanilla we learned to ignore basic housing, now we clear kitchens with a fine comb. Also a chance to find wrenches and other tools in kitchen sinks. Also twine can be found in many other places, in trash and on zeds, but for me kitchen cabinets are the best.

Yes, looting is absolutely essential in this mod. and like you stated, vanilla we bypassed those house POI's especially the kitchens but in Ravenhearst those kitchens are absolutely vital. :o) Im a looter and hoarder so looting for me is fun and I enjoy it immensely but I will say if you're not into looting then you wont be able to really experience all this mod has to offer and lose out on a lot. Its al about scavenging. :02.47-tranquillity:

Exactly. Twine has never been a problem for me bc I sweep houses entirely. TFP are trying to get us back in houses by giving them a dungeon crawl in A17. Jax succeeded in reviving old POIs by adding twine. Omg I can't wait to see ravenhearst in a17! I might need a divorce lol

    LoL. :apathy:

Just to give you guys a heads up, this is entirely my fault but I wanted to share this mishap to prevent others from making the same error I did. I obviously use the backpacks and purses as storage chests and by accident I smashed a backpack and it had a ton of my trader only items as well as dukes and once smashed they all go poof..so be careful guys. :strawberry:

  7. Unfortunately these little bumps in the road happen but just know we’re all behind you and the hard work your team have done. If there has to be a restart that’s fine. Take your time and you’ll all get to the bottom of this.

In the meantime, is 2.2 ok to play? Just while this gets sorted and I can play 3.0 again. Thanks :)

  8. Day 8 on 90-min-days, and I haven't gotten dirty yet - if there hadn't been a towel quest, I wouldn't even know that hygiene is a thing in this mod. IMO the dirt chances should be much higher.

I just hit day 5 and i got the dirty buff. It has a chance to apply the buff each zombie you loot. You happened to be lucky, and I wouldn't complain about that. ;)

  9. Has anyone else noticed very little water on the map? We have tried to seeds "Donut" and "patience" and have found little to none. We wiped "Donut" after three 120 minute days. Took 2 days (also 120 minutes) to find a small lake. Just curious if anyone else has noticed or are we just unlucky?

yes, i tried about 7 different seed names and the water was nonexistent. Finally I found a seed that had a few small patches of water. "Ravenhearst2". It just adds to the difficulty I guess. But I have found a few small holes in the forest with water inside and in previous version I tried mining in one spot and when I dig there was water underneath the earth. Having an awesome time with this mod btw. Amazing work to the devs!! :strawberry:
