So I'm very excited to try DF for the first time. Would most other smaller mods off Nexus not work with this, like faster crafting/smelting speed increases, etc? I just checked via Discord, but all I saw mentioned was Sorcery and BDubs vehicles (which I believe is part of DF).

I certainly can't say for sure but most overhaul mods dont play well with a lot of other modlets or mods. The ones listed like sorcery have been confirmed to work with no problems. Everything else is a gamble.

Does anyone have a custom DF map with a very large megacity that they could share?

RWG for DF is still a work in progress, right?

/just wanting a different sort of map play-through this time around

You do know A20 really drags in regular cities. I would think you might be playing at under 10 fps in one large city.

Question. Khaine B., Did you alter A20's new weather system? If not I would like to report a very minor detail where the rain sound starts to play but there is no visual rain and player never gets wet. Of course this could be the base game.

  3. Glorious day for me, DF released to the V3 mod launcher. Return of A17 bad food throw-up...love it. My only complaint ever with DF was food so easy. Not anymore with implementing rotten food. Thanks Khaine. Definitely hiting up your Patreon today. Simply the most fun one can have in & days to die. At least solo which is all I know about because this the only mode I ever play. Goona also try and get Neebs gaming to start a DF series. In case they dont already have one.

I would also add that having a basic understanding of the mods you are installing helps in the long run.  Dealing with multiple errors because you just throw every mod into the folder not determining if they been tested to work with the current version or conflicts with other mods out there can become a long drawn out activity of frustration and asking why your game is not working correctly.

I use the launcher to create copies of the main 7D2D game, but I do the manual install of the mods.

I have been modding games since 2001. So i have complete knowledge of what I am doing. Also I have never had a single problem using the mod launcher. Not one.

I really didn't expect this resistance for such a great tool. The romero mod is there when you DL it on the launcher its just not in the right folder structure.

Guess I'll fix it myself. Or stick with the mods that are already working perfectly fine.

    Counterpoint.

No offense to sphereii, but the mod launcher has been a literal thorn in my side, because people just let mods update and ASSUME the game also updates (it doesn't) and then complain when it doesn't work.

So a manual install would fix this problem?

Just install it manually. It's not hard

I know its not hard. but I play several different mods at once. The mod launcher makes everything simple. And both romero and DF worked before in the A19.6 version on mod launcher. And yes I could just make my own copies of the different mods and create shortcuts to them on my desktop. But The ML also provides automatic updates and news. Cant get that with desktop shortcuts. Plus IMO the Mod Launcher is absolutely the greatest tool created for 7 Days to die. Not greater than the mods themselves mind you, mod creators are champions of the industry. Especially because I HATE vanilla 7. All the great mods end up there eventually so please consider a restructer. I LIVE for DARKNESS FALLS. of my 4000 hours in 7 at least half are in your stellar mod. I so hope you will make that one compatible with the mod launcher. And I like romero as well. So I am throwing myself on your mercy.

@bigrowdy yes there is a new splash screen for this mod.

As for my efforts to remove the HP bars that has worked but the trader compound is still destructible even with everything I can find related to the trader in the 2SCore folder, blocks.xml file set to false.  I looked in the other files but don't see anything trader related that would make the trader compound invulnerable again.

Yeah ok. It's not installing with the launcher. Undead Legacy installs perfectly so I dont know what the issue is. Shame. I LIVE for Darkness Falls but I sure hope I dont have these issues with it like this one is giving me. Although I could easily install it manually, that is the purpose of the launcher...

Imma try one more time and then give up,

Well looking in the mod launcher location there is a 'backup' folder with romero mod and inside that the files are still zipped and not unpacked...dont know if it supposed to be like that...I dont think so.

  8. KhaineeGB First of all congratulations on making 7 Days to Die a better game. Seriously I dont ever even play vanilla anymore. I frakin love this mod.

Now I have a comment that I hope does not fall on deaf ears.

A friend told me you were going to remove the trader guards in future iterations. If that is true it is very distressing to me. Now I bet I can guess why you are going to remove them, that being you are inundated with questions and request from players to help with some problem regarding, ...er..guards.

I have played the base game a million times both SP and MP. But making the trader my base and building structures to keep guards alive at the different outpost has sparked a very new very enjoyable game experience. I do not abuse the system or spam in extras or any of that cheaty stuff. I play it as if were a real world scenario. I have devised ways to keep the guards from clipping down the walls/roofs. but if they die, they die. And I put a turret in its place. It has been the most fun I have had in 7 in a LONG time. And it feels so organic to boot. Now you know your game and those guards would not amount to a hill of beans if blood moons were turned on. I play a very slow 50% experience low loot type game. They ever increasing in difficulty of the non-blood moon attacking hordes works really well in how I play the game.

But if you do remove them could you please leave the the ability to place them in the DM mode so I can continue to enjoy this mod the way I have found such joy in my selected playstyle.

ps. I am sure you have gotten this request before, but I implore you to be kind to an old recently retired man that is simply giddy with how I have found a playstyle in your mod that is suited perfectly to me. I am not active on these official forums much, but in the steam forums, I go on and on about how much fun this mod is.

    Thank you for your consideration.

  9. I have been playing this game for 8 years and just discovered this today...

I love weather effects in this game. does the mod add any graphical/world conditions. Like a very dark day with lightning almost strobe like and no rain.

Or Rain so hard and loud you can barely here the zeds?

    OR

Does it simply increase the bad weather the game already has to offer?

    Thanks.

The pre-build map is a separate addition, specially for those who do not want to spend 2 hours on generation.  You need to download it separately, otherwise the mod archive will be large together with it.

But i still recommend not downloading, but generating your own map to get a unique world.

Ok. But My Comp. is slow... Maybe I'll set to generate when I go to sleep. I brag on your mod a lot in the steam forums btw.

This IMPORTANT hotfix returns the display of XP without which it was not possible to get XP.

(there are also changes in the mod-launcher, the link in OP has been replaced)

    HOTFIX for CSH v19.5.00

You can compensate for the lost XP by entering the console command "giveselfxp".
Can calculate the approximate amount of XP by the number of zombies killed (shown on the character tab).

The number of zombies is multiplied by the average XP they give (let it be ~450-500).
Now substitute the resulting number instead of XXX and enter it into the console:
    giveselfxp XXX

    My apologies.

So If I use the current launcher I dont need the hot fix?

    MOD version UPDATE - CSH_v19.5.00

    major changes:

    - new nutritional system

(this system is not yet fully adjusted, but it does not negatively affect the gameplay in this form)

(this not compatible with previous saves and worlds).

if you do not want to generate a large world for a long time, then you can take this ready-made one:

    Berehe Valley_14k_for CSHv19.5.00

Is this available in the new game setup or must I download it here?

  12. Ok, thats what I hoped...one particular feature I LOVE is the terrain and shrubbery. The forest feels like a forest, fallen tree logs, tall grass, bushes etc... and you added sounds while moving across each....really cool.

  13. Thanks again for the mod brother. 7 days to die is scary again.....and lethal. When you said dont make a sound at night you were not kidding. Hiding up in a water tower..opening and closing some chest...the zeds seemed to be banging on the tower a little. They sounded a little too close so I decided to open the hatch for a peak. BAM!!!! two zeds bash my face in.....  Scared the crap out of me and i think i pee'd a little.....

To be clear if I die...I can just start with a new seed for a map that was generated inside the mod, correct?

  14. Yeah thats what i thought. So just tried it generating new world inside your mod...worked great......died twice in an hour....lol....this is why I love your mod...most other mods are not tough enough.

ps. You clearly stated as much about maps, I was in too much of a hurry.....
