  • Multiplayer world BUG after using Editing Tools (World Editor)

    Game mode: MP host 

     

    Did you wipe old saves? Yes

     

    Did you start a new game? Yes

     

    Did you validate your files? Yes

     

    Are you using any mods? No

     

    EAC on 

     

    Status: NEW

     

    Bug Description: After using Map Editing Tool, the world looks like it merged 2-3 different seeds in one seed with buggy buildings and textures

     

    Detailed steps to reproduce the bug:

    1) Create a world, let your 1 friend join

    2) Both of you disconnect from the server, the host needs to use Map Editin Tool (paste the seed you used to create the world)

    3) Start the server again, enjoy your bugged world

     

    Actual result: Floating Trees, bugging textures, world looking like it has 2-3 merged seeds

     

    Expected result: Showing actual map in the editing tool, not bugging the world

    Using the World Editor will not update the save game correctly without doing chunk resets everywhere a change was made. It is always best to start a new game for the changes to take effect properly.

    I'm confused as to why you had to paste the seed into the editor. The world should have been in the list ready to edit.

    I would agree that the World Editor needs an overhaul to make things like not possible. Hope to see some changes in a future alpha.
