Hello, a friend of mine has a bug/crash which causes him to crash every time we play.

What he tried, changed graphic settings, reinstalled the game, forced dx 10.

    Logs: https://pastebin.com/cZHQzh1Y

    Ty for the help.

Forcing dx10 doesn't do anything anymore, it's no longer supported. This looks like a GPU driver crash, but I would try the simple things first: make sure your friend's windows is fully updated (don't forget about Microsoft redistributables pack), and the game folder + the appdata folder for the saves are both added to antivirus/firewall exceptions. There are errors related to EOS going on, which may be caused by something aforementioned, which could also explain the driver crash.

First thanks for the reply, you mind sharing how to add the game folder + the app data to firewall exeptions?

You're welcome. That depends on which one you use, if it's Windows Defender, you'll want to add this to the scan bypass, this covers it: Add an exclusion to Windows Security - Microsoft Support

Select the folder option and add the root folder. So, Appdata/Roaming/7Daystodie and the main game folder

My friend also had an antivirus installed, which maybe caused a problem. Will try that out, thanks kind sir.

Hm did your friend add exclusions to windows defender too? It's being called in the crash dump. At least that fixed the EOS errors, one less thing :). Also, have him disable steam overlay, shut discord down if it's running, and close anything else that's running an overlay, and disable anything in the amd program that alters graphics (just choose the settings that lets the application control settings for now). Process of elimination is the best bet at the moment.

Another thing worthy to try if he hasnt, Google DDU (display driver uninstaller), and have him use that to uninstall the driver and then install a fresh one

Weird, he did it in defender too. Will try that out, thanks.

No problem, yeah make sure he's got it in there, just because it ran through Defender it doesn't mean the exceptions weren't one properly, just was noting that I saw it in there just in case he didn't realize he was still running it and didn't add the exceptions there too.
