  • Map Gen breaking on Road Smoothing

    Game Version: A21 b313

    OS/Version: Windows 10

    CPU Model: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X

    System Memory: 32.0 GB

    GPU Model and VRAM: GPU AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT

    Screen Resolution: 1920x1080

    Video Settings: Ultra + (custom but its basically ultra + except a few minor things like motion blur)

    Game mode: SP custom map

     

    Did you wipe old saves? Yes

     

    Did you start a new game? Yes

     

    Did you validate your files? Yes

     

    Are you using any mods? No

     

    EAC on or off? On

     

    Status: NEW

     

    Bug Description:

     

    Detailed steps to reproduce the bug:

    1) creating a custom map (in the past took max 7 min for the largest size)

    2) it goes through the map generation and gets stuck on road smoothing usually 85% (was on 97 once and 70 once)

    3) tried MULTIPLE times somewhere in double digits

     

    Actual result: create the custom random map gen and it gets stuck on road smoothing i made a map earlier on in the day and it was fine had to lay down and slept for a few hours (no update to the game) woke up to make a single player map as the earlier map was for multiplayer, and now it wont get past smoothing roads

     

    Expected result: map gen works? i dont know what you want me to put here

    Yeah to iterate further, when the window greys out and Windows gives you the "program is no longer responding" window, it's Windows being way too quick and jumping the gun. The game is not frozen, it's still working so just give it a few and it will catch up.

    I had the same problem but it was a hard crash. When I opened the task manager there were two operations running under 7 Days To Die. One was just 7 Days To Die, the other was Unitycrashhandler.

    Thank you, glad to see I am not the only one, my pc usually will map gen in 7 min on the old a20, but now i would wait upwards of 20 minuets and it wouldn't budge
