  • Invisible blocks in air made gyrocopter cause unstable/impossible gameplay in RWG

    Foehammer
    • Version: a21 (b324)

Summary: Was flying the gyrocopter and kept constantly running into invisible blocks or something in the air just above the trees somehow. When I attempted to fly into a town there was like a mass of invisible blocks/wall and when I tried to fly through it the framerate dropped to single digit fps. I managed to leave the game but when I continued the same world the fps dropped to single digits again. The gyrocopter is stuck to the ground and when I tried to place a new one down it too was also stuck to the ground (was drivable but could not fly). The FPS is still single digit even after removing the gyrocopters.

    Thank you for reporting.

Have you lost track of a drone recently?

If you have lost a drone,  this issue is most likely caused by the drone being stuck somewhere.

When the drone gets stuck,  it creates an endless spam of logs in the console,  which results in many issues like the ones you described.  Your log being too big to paste is because of all the logs caused by the drone trying to get unstuck.

If you remember where you lost your drone,  you may be able to retrieve it.  If not,  you would need to delete the drone from your save game.  The sure way to do this is to delete the "drones.dat" and the "drones.dat.bak" files in your save game folder.  Deleting these files will delete the drone you had,  so your drone and everything you had in its inventory will be lost.

You can find your savegame folder by,

    - Select the "Tools" tab in your launcher.

    - Select the "Open savegame folder".

    - Open the "Saves" folder.

    - Open the folder with the name of the map that you are having the issue with.

    - Open the folder with the name of the save game that your are having the issue with.

    - Delete both the "drones.dat" and the "drones.dat.bak" files.

After deleting the drone files,  do the following in game.

    - Open console by pressing F1

    - Type in "dm" in the console and press enter.

    - Type in "jd clear" in the console and press enter.

    - Try deploying the drone again.
