    I was just starting this save so its not a huge loss, but i temporarily stored stuff in a gas station, then took on a trader quest. this quest put zombies in my house and deleted my blocks and items.

    Sorry you lost your items,  but that is intended.

    When a poi is reset for a trader quest,  everything in the trader compound is reset to its original state.

    To prevent your base from being picked for a quest location,  you can either place a land claim block or a sleeping bag.
