    Status: NEW

    Bug Description:

A bug directly related to highlighting content in the search bar

    To reproduce this you need:

    1. a container (forge, storage box, turret, anything that can be accessed where you can see your own inventory)

    2. any item with the option for "Recipes" (i.e gas can, clay etc) in your inventory

Detailed steps to reproduce the bug:

    1) Open inventory and type any letter into the search bar

    2) Highlight the letter

    3) Close the inventory

    4) Open container

    5) Click on the item with the option for "Recipes", click on "Recipes"

Now you will have effectively reproduced the bug, this also locks your controls, so you are not able to click anything, UNTIL you click the search bar (it will be highlighted). If you try to divide the stack of your chosen item, and try to place the divided stack in your inventory, it will drop down the console with the null ref exc. To get out of this, just escape out of the console, then close inventory, your item will stay in your inventory.

    In the logs it says:
NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object at XUi_FallThrough.Update () [0x00031] in <2ba1bc1bbbe64fe49f53fe5235fb7038>:0

Actual result: Highlighted text in the search bar remains highlighted when using the option "Recipes" on an item, which causes a seemingly more deep-rooted problem of null ref exc when the search bar is highlighted and items are moved.

    Expected result:

I expect the highlight to disappear, and the text to disappear (when clicking "Recipes" on an item).

I also expect to not get a null ref exc when dividing the stack and moving half of it to another square if the search bar is highlighted. Even though this shouldn't be possible, as the search bar becomes "unfocused" when left- or right-clicking an item. However it still seems like it shouldn't be an issue.

I do wish that the logs were anonymized. Which is why I left it out.

    They don't contain private information.

I see where the error is in the log, and I'm not noticing any obvious cause previous to it. Please ensure that you have fully excluded the client from security software, and then verify the files a couple of times.  Instructions on the former are here.

Once that's done, restart your system and try a new save. See if it occurs again.

You're correct, logs don't contain private information, but that doesn't mean they're anonymized.

You still haven't said if this is reproducible for you. Is it? Obviously you wouldn't ask me to continue troubleshooting if it was, however I don't want to assume anything. I don't have windows firewall or windows defender enabled. I don't have any third party real-time security software either. I have verified my files multiple times as well. I have also done multiple restarts and shutdowns since I created this post, and trying again today on a new save, yields the same result.

I was able to reproduce this once using slightly different tests. Going to move it to under review until I can nail it down. If you could possibly post a video showing you do it, that would be greatly appreciated.
