I updated to version 1.0 yesterday and can confirm I love ALMOST everything. The one craw: the new controller layout. I have played on Steam for four years. The previous editions all used the same controller layout. Taking away cursor control for controllers makes the game completely unplayable. Every action now takes about 3 seconds as you have to tick around one box at a time. Doesn't sound like much until you realize you are doing about 5,000 actions in a typical 4 hour session, reducing drastically what you are able to accomplish. I don't want to be sorting through my menus for the entire game. You had a great thing going! Put the controller functionality back to how it was or your hope of capturing console gamers will go right in the toilet. Everything else: 10/10. Old controller support in alphas 18-21: 10/10, my mates didn't even know I was using a controller. They thought I was some kind of keyboard wizard. Controller support v1.0: 2/10 it works, kind of, but it's very slow and clunky. My wife agrees. She won't play again until this is addressed. She was so mad, she rage quit yesterday in the middle of blood moon. I played with the controller options but could not find a way to get the cursor back unless I used the mouse. Defeats the purpose of having a controller.
Please please please fix this or you will lose long time gamers and console players will trash the game in the first hour of play. Not on par with current console FPS games at all.
