I don't feel super stongly about the change, but it seems like a bit of a weird choice to me. It probably won't affect me since I never did tons of quests in a day, but it just artificially makes trader progression a bit longer for minmaxers.

It probably won't affect me since I never did tons of quests in a day, but it just artificially makes trader progression a bit longer for minmaxers. If a player wants to max out traders quick, let them do it, or at the very least up the limit and add some kind of in world reason for this happening. I think 5 is pretty reasonable. This also discourages doing low tier, and quick pois at high tiers of trader progression, since you'll only be able to get miniscule tier points if the limit is 3. As it stands it's just something to slow progression without any meaningful implementation.

I wish they would give reasons on fairly major changes like this happening instead of just throwing it in without any explanation or gauging community reaction.  I'd really like it if bigger changes actually got explained, because not everyone knows what all the terms mean or fully read through the build updates. Tossing it at the bottom of the patch notes is kind of weird. It's a pretty big adjustment.
