How easy/difficult would it be to use mod-added vehicle assets as a replacer for the existing in-game vehicles? Also updating older vehicle mods?

Title pretty much sums it up.

 

1) Wanting to replace the default 4x4, motorbike, etc, with some modded ones.

2) If I have outdated vehicle mods from A19/20 (so not THAT outdated), what needs to be done to bring those mods up to current spec?

 

Also in either case, is there any problem if the visual model has no cosmetic options? I don't mind at all if you can put dye in the slot but there's no change to the actual in-game model, I just want to make sure this doesn't break anything or cause errors.
