Backpack and death control

Ok been thinking on the whole people just killing them self off to remove debuffs and as many have said there really isn't that much of a sown side to it. I came up with this idea. They let us craft upgraded backpack so we can carry more gear. But the bigger or better the pack you need to have a high level. When you die you drop level and loose item slots, till you mange to level back up. The one clear does side I could see would be with PVP world. When you end up getting killed 15 times in a row, due to unlucky respawn.
