    No they are not, they "lost the plot", and seeing comments like yours and the other above confirms me that you should never post in the forum or dev should never listen to you.
    Changing core game systems at every release only shows how lost they are. In a dev cycle changing so much only makes the code messier and messier to a point there is no more control and everything crumbles into a messy code/game. Of course sometimes you have to change things even drastically if they dont work, but why wasting time into creating an annoying as hell drone, instead of adding a randomizer for zombies types.

    And on another side, please dev decide if you want to go for a ton crap of stupid zombies with some "special" zombie mixed in, or if u want to go for less but harder ones.

    As i said pipe weaps could have been a nice addition for early stage if handled correctly, and that is not the case.
    New farming is so bad that is even a pain talking about it, should be reverted back to A19 and kept like that.
    The new drone adds absolutely nothing.
    The new loot system and RNG is terrible like finding the same item or recipe over and over, and not getting what you should need. Not even at the traders.

    On the positive side, vehicles addons are good, and the new building blocks is good.
    We need to see fixed the structural integrity as it's quite bugged for what i tested atm.

    So as i said multiple times, the few good things of this new release are just destroyed by the bad additions.

     

    P.S.
    1 In addition dev should fix the fact that a bone knife level 4 is better than an hunting knife level 2.
    A level higer tier weapon should be better that an level 6 inferior tier weap. The only difference should be boosted by installed mods.

    2 The repair kit should be ereased and weapons / armors should need "parts" for fixing and beeing repaired. 1 forged iron and 1 duct tape and u can fix an entire car or machingun ... that is BS u should need parts for doing that. And repair kit maybe for minor fixes .... i'd like to see something like that in game. And maybe the ability to craft such parts. Not only to get them from "scrapping".

    Yes u did by testing the crops out of seeds.
    As i said i did not had time to do that just to test some gathering from plants (as described to see even what an existing plant drops)
    I did not pretended that test to be complete as mentioned in my comment above where i even asked if there is a way to force the growth in creative mode / debug mode

    If u like the new system then it's a huge problem, the new farming system is just objectively bad. And i think my idea is way better even for how u said u'd like farming to be.  U have to PLAY correctly not WORK hard it's a game and u should have fun ... not been bothered by illogical and absolutely pointless gaming mechanics.
    P.S. Do you realize this is a game not a full time job?

    Yeah i was doing a test about that now i dont have time to test the "normal growth".
    But it's ridiculous anyway the 50% chance of seed ... 1 corn contains a tons of seeds by itself, i know in a "game" this cannot be applied, but thanks for confirming the fact that the new farming system is .. terrible and should be erased and rolled back to a19 and then totally wiped out for a better and more logic one.

    I think the way could be that the the more u level into LoTL the more crop you grow to the harvest stage. 
    I think that the chance a plant reaces maturity should be ruled by the perk, so the higher the perk the more succesful you can be in growing plants and abtaining seeds.
    So to complete, seeds should come off a single veggie and the %of success should be ruled by the perk. Simple and effective and nice to be played.
    That is my idea.

    P.S.
    It would be great if farming could take into account water and temperatures. For examples i cannot grow yucca in the frost biome.
    I need some sort of heated shelter for that, like vice-versa in the desert.
    That would be nice addition to end game, like building a refrigerated / heated room for crops. More items more devices more crafting more fun.

    Ok here the test i did today 10 plots with 10 corn plants
    Living Of the land Level 0 -> 10 ear of corn - No Seeds
    Living Of the land Level 1 -> 20 ear of corn - No Seeds
    Living Of the land Level 2 -> 29 ear of corn - No Seeds
    Living Of the land Level 3 -> 35 ear of corn - No Seeds
    ........... Using the "plant" in cm.

    Now i'm trying to test the "grown" seeds, but it's quite absurd that even i speed up time i cannot get those seeds to grow.
    Are they "ticked" at real time ?

    I said "been in alpha" not "released".  And i cite from the wiki page " Its initial release was on December 11, 2015, a year after the Star Citizen project was originally planned for completion"
    On the team size and fundings i agree, CI has way more "power" in that compartment. And BTW it was just a "Yet Another StarCitizen Alpha Joke".

    Where i live  potatoes are grown from other potatoes, or from sprouting ones ... we have never seen those "seeds".  And by looking into it a bit, i've discovered that there anly a few kind of potatoes that does that or that sprouts fowers and then seeds. Not a very common thing here.

Try to get a recipe for a forge/bench/mixer .... i tried 5 runs 1 to lvl 20.  In only 1 run i've got all 3 recipes early on (good rng i suppose) in all the other test runs only pillaging cities and questing for traders -> in 20 levels and more less 20 in-game days zero recipes found, not even 1 of them (visited also 2 crack-a-book).
    The new loot systems have some good things like wood, stone, iron and base mats in trash, but i constatly find only end-game recipes i will never get to use. And i hardly get any recipe for what i need to do. Forcing me to invest points into INT to unlock them, i dont want to do that but at some point i will have to that.
    Not to mention that i things seeds for the rng are broken, when u fint 1 or 2 recipes/items you wil start to get them everywhere, in all the test runs this happened reliably.
    Found a level6 pipe machingegun .... i get thet item almost every time i open a "box" and the rng says -> ok now get a good item and i give you...... tadaaaa a level 6 pipe machinegun. Like a broken record.
    There is something really really odd or worst, broken.
    Try to do a "farming" run and tell me if the new farming system is good, i tested in CM ... and i can admit that is pure BS, not even with livin off the land maxed out you get more from the field than u have planted (that is the point of farming i plant 1 to get 10 .. takes time and effort  but ...)

    I'm happy for you that the game is good for you, but i think .... the A20 ruined too many aspects of the experiece adding just a couple of really good new things.

    I confirm that, had to restart the game 3 times before the bindings where really saved. Now it's ok.  Mybe a problem when wiping old game data, and missing folders at launch. So after a re-launch and a re-bind you trigger the procedure that creates the folder and the configuration file, until u do that the configuration is simply not saved due to a "FILE_MISSING" or "FOLDER_NOT_FOUND" exception or something like that.

    No it's not ODD it's the right thing to do.

    Most games are using the main screen for notification because "Common Sense" tells the dev that is the place where important information regarding the game should be.
    That said, goodbye again and please leave this thread (you just confirmed i was right above)

    Indeed. I don't invest in them. But there's an actual argument to be made, instead of just telling TFP to discard couple decades of labor because you don't like the current iteration.

    I get that question to start the launcher every time. But I don't know if this is happening to everyone, I am on a different operating system and I think I have seen someone else not getting this question pop-up on Windows. It may have something to do with old settings in the registry maybe

    1 yes i prefere not to talk with ppl that cannot se the point. Simple.
    2 yes maybe some configuration issue or difference, that's is why "put the message in the main page of the game" is the perfect place, every player will get that, no excuses whatsoever then.

    Kinda the point of the pipe weapons, to be useless. Double barrel is still in game, just the next tier.. "why not the first tier?" because this is a copy-paste of the blunderbuss which had its functionality pretty balanced already.

    There is. Sure, usually potatoes are cloned from root parts, but the plant does actually flower and produce seeds. But yeh, farming sucks because it doesn't take a third of a year to grow the first crop.

    100% disagree with u on mostly all of your points.

     

    1 - the weap is of course in use with law enforcement... but they use a well crafted "baton" not a crappy pipe assembly that is totally unreliable. And they dont use it like u see in the game either. A simple ppipe "stick" would have been simpler to design and animate correctly.
    Have u ever used one of those, or a stick or a weapon in general ?  (i'm curious)

    2 - if they r useless why invest time on that ? It's a waste of time / money and player time.  U see u contradict yourself at every step u fall even on your own logic.

    3 - so it' just a lazy remodel and add re-animate and paste over of the good "buss" so -> totally worthless.

    4 - not even commenting on that one, as that sentence is as meaningful as a pipe baton

    And regarding the SI issue, I'm not aware that there has been a change in how collapsing works. But there seems to be a bug that makes buildings collapse even though they are structurally sound because updates to SI sometimes don't register

     

     

     

    I tested some building collpase in CM .... and it's terrible, i had to do that, cause in a real run a had a building to collapse 10 mins b4 the horde only for removing 1 block from a well supported bridge
    That building was well supported on 4 pillars and a house.... so i went to test and every time i did the same, the building collpased cause of the collapse of the "bridge" for ... reasons.
    Maybe i will produce a video about that if i will have time.

    When a new major alpha comes out,  pretty much always wipe the data.

    (personally, I just rename the game folder, and copy the savegames out.  Makes it easier to go back to an older alpha.

    I still go back to 16.4 and my 8km tunnels from time to time)   :D

     

    RNG btw, is really really brutal this alpha.  The R is really, really random.

    Kinda how in 16, one game it's day 50 and no minibike book, make a new game, and it's in the first trashpile you loot. hrmph!  😛

     

     

     

    Yeah i know that, happens to me too, so i learned that i have to put those info where everybody sees them.
    Like a big alert popup in the main application page.

    And yes RNG is pretty broken in this version. I fear something is not quite right with seeds.

    I think that communication is fundamental. That will help alot not too see such arguments any more.
    But i also understand why there is a manual data-wipe, knowing about such thing will help alot.

    Not all A20 features are that bad, some are really cool (as shown in the screen below).
    But Pipe baton is terrible, whoever though about that kind of weapon clearly knows nothing about weapons and fighting. 
    The pipe shotty is useless, why didn't u made a double barrel shotty is beyond me, and the reload animation is painfully slow making such weapon pretty useless.
    The pipe pistol suffers the same problem about the reload animation.
    The pipe machinegun is way too op, and makes the ak useless (1 pipe and u r repaired ... more less same damage) Why didn't u made the pipe machinegun .... an semi-automatic smg (u know automatic weaps are really hard to make)

    The companion dron is 100% pointless, flyng around hiding ur visual ... for what ? ... that drone should not exists in this game.

    The new building integrity is just terrible, if 1 ledge breaks all the building collapses.... why ? Just propagate the collapse on "red/orange" integrity voxels ... and not through all the building. 

    Farming ... who the hell decided the new farming system ?
    U know irl u plant a seed and IF it sprouts ... u will grow a plant capable of generating tons of fruis / veggies with tons of seeds!!!
    from 1 seed u can grow a farm if u have enough time.
    And there is no such thing as a "potato seed".

    Should i go on with the list of "not good new features" ?

    And here is the promised screen, the new skin lighting system at it's best (don get me wrong the idea is cool, but u have more important stuff to fix before those worthless aestethics)

    The release notes are also linked on Steam.

     

    Do you realize that not all players do that, they hit play on steam and just play the game?
    You cannot pretend all players to read stuff online, even if official.

    An important information should always be in the most viewed place. It's common sense.
    It takes litteraly no time to add a message box in the main menu (the right place to put critical information).
    Devs can also use such panel to display more info or notes for the players so who does not follow the forum or the dev page will be informed about critical stuff.

    I've even went out of my way to get a new drive to put the game on and I'm still always having the same generic issues. It's a real shame how buggy the game is and how poorly it can get handled.

     

    It's still a fun game nonetheless, but I won't recommend it until it's out of early access. I can't imagine telling my friends to pay $30 for the game and then deal with every single hassle along the way that the volatile code offers.


    I agree, on that, but i understand the fact that u can also play the version u like.
    Automating such procedure could cause even a worst backlash, if they just notified that in the game main menu all users wouls have seen that information.

    Actually there is some fun still there, but the good things added in the new version are totally destroyed by the bad things.

     

    Sorry another fun fact.
    After wiping data and restarting i re-configured my keybindings (as is utterly stupid wheel up -> item down and vice-versa)

    Well after re-entering the game i've found all personal keybinds gone, i had to re configure everything from mouse sensitivity (way too high) to keys ....
    Are u facing this issue ?
    Not to mention the game crashes 15% of the times i try to load a savegame.

  12. Yea i understand, but tha hell this is again the "alpha shield".
    It's not hard to notify the user in the main screen to manually wipe data, and what data to wipe.
    It's just lazyness and disrespectful of customers.

    I just deleted the savegames, now i'm cleaning up the installation by wiping data (that i a shame that after so many years we still have to do this)
    As i said at least, tell your customer with a text box in-game, that we should clean the installation and WHAT to clean.
    [EDIT]: thank to another user i just discovered that this game has a laucher (not accessible in steam u have to manually launch it)
    There i can wipe data with the automatic procedure.... i wish i knew that b4

    Like in a run my character was not saved, and rolled back 3 levels lost all new stuff in the inventory also.
    ..... lucky u that is running ok for you.
    And dont get me into pipe weaps ... what a bs, the pipe baton is a joke. Whoever animated that knows nothing about weaps.
