Seriously, though, the first horde is intentionally easy. It's there to show you the process without wiping you out.

 

As for actual advice? Don't worry too much about having the "perfect" setup. Play the game, see what works. You only get that experience once.

I'm a newbie, you may have seen some of my other posts! I'm a 30 year old, Director of Photography for a racing team (and also Uni student) looking for people to play with on a casual basis - I'm online most nights if I can, but obviously with uni sometimes I have to prioritise my dissertation ahah

 

My steam is Lord Daem - I've got a little custom map going, but am happy to play on a server thats up 24/7 or on your map!

My first base in the game - setup right next to the trader (cause I'm too lazy to trek that far!) Any tips on fortifications will be great - I currently have a trench with wooden spikes surrounding the entrances, with sandbags just behind to make it harder for the Z's to get through

 

 

[Vortex not launching game?]

I've used Vortex with FO4, Skyrima and Masquerade Bloodlines before, with no issue. HOWEVER, I am struggling to get it to work with 7 Days to Die.

 

For some reason, if I DON'T have any mods installed, I can launch through Vortex, but as soon as I've installed this mod I can't launch through Vortex - and when manually launching through Steam, the texture changes don't appear.... can anyone shed any light on this?

I was a bit dubious of getting another early access zombie game after the fiasco I had with DayZ - my friends were going on at me for ages to get it and I finally took the plunge (albeit when drunk).

 

Can I just say, hats off the the Devs. I know its still EA - but I'm absolutely loving it and can't wait to see what the future holds

 

Its  a bit of a learning curve, so if there are any UK based servers accepting total newbies, I'll happily join!
