    1. Future cross-platform support. Which was openly discussed by the developers long before the update released.

    2. Everything was said in the Patch note. You just need to actually read it.

    Server Administration and Multiplayer

To future-proof our game, including allowing us to use the latest anti-cheat and expanding to other platforms later on for future crossplay capabilities, we added Epic Online Services (EOS) to the game. For regular players this should not have any noticeable effect, you do NOT need an account on Epics platforms. EOS only knows your SteamID which is public anyway and matches that to an ID for EOS that is only valid for 7 Days to Die.

The change for server administration is in the user IDs that are used to store data and reference players, i.e. the filenames of user files, IDs in the serveradmin.xml or console output / commands which now refer to the user’s EOS ID.

Wasn't letting me in the game because it said it couldn't connect to epic servers.  Had to open the epic store which was a tad irritating.

  2. Sorry been a bit unwell.  I will upload the log when home.  Did find a work around though I load Darkness falls on the other machine up to the menu then I bring up my friend profile and join the game and it works.   It uses the already loaded Darkness falls version.

Oh not using a mod version of darkness falls but the total conversion version via mod launcher.

  3. My gf and I play 72d2 together the pcs are side by side.   In the last two or three weeks when I load the game on her machine to join mine she can see the number of friends online (1 friend as she only plays with me)  but when she clicks on the friends tab there are no servers listed.  She doesn't see my server the list is blank.  We generally play Darkness Falls but I have tried vanilla game also with the same result.

Lets see if I can remember all the things I have tried.

Clearing the steam cache both machines.

turning off firewall on each machine

Checked for anything blocked in firewall.

Tried starting a server on the other machine but same thing.

    restarted router and modem

Made sure game details on steam are set to public on both accounts.

I have probably missed a few things as I have been trying off and on for a few weeks to fix this.  If I think of anything else that I tried I will add it.

  4. I just started playing 7 days to die. I downloaded the mod launcher and activated the modlet for NPCs and the other required modlets plus some others I decided to try. Should I be seeing dialogue options on NPCs I walk up to and target? I am not seeing any and am assuming I set something up incorrectly. I am using the latest version off steam of 7 days as of this post and the latest version of the launcher. Anything I should check or try?
